Children of all ages enjoy playing dress up and imagining that they are someone else, and if they can become a magical character that only makes the activity more fun. This blanket is not only beautiful, but also allows the person wearing it to transform themselves into a mermaid complete with a fin that they can swish around. The pattern has instructions for three sizes so you can make this mermaid tail to fit a small child or an adult with a childlike imagination.

TagsMystic Mermaid Tail
This is a redesign of the very popular Mystic Mermaid Cocoon by B.hooked Crochet published in 2015. Now you can crochet the most popular crochet mermaid tail pattern in baby, toddler, child, teen and adult sizes! Bernat POP! yarn really brings out a sense of uniqueness to every mermaid tail. Use Blue Blaze to get a classic mermaid tail or try gold rush river for a bright and bold look! You may also substitute any "cake" style yarn for this pattern.
Majestic Mermaid Tail
I have written this pattern in UK and US terms. Its an easy to follow picture tutorial. It would take an experienced crocheter two evenings or 7 hours approx. to complete. Its suitable for beginners and pattern is easily adjusted for preference (Bigger tail, wider, longer fit) Sizes Toddler - Small Child, Junior - Teen, Small adult - Adult Materials: 2 strands of DK yarn or 1 strand of super bulky. Any multi-colour or single bold colour will work just as nice or you could alternate colours between rows to create same effect. You will need around 800/1100/1800 yards of yarn.

Unicorn Character Afghan
I am so excited to share that my Unicorn Character Afghan is finally done! I had so much fun with the entire process; from designing the pixel graphs to crocheting and watching each graph look more and more like each unicorn character. My free pattern includes a pixel graph and a written pattern for each of the four unicorn characters: llamacorn, unicorn, caticorn and puppycorn. I used worsted weight yarn (Red Heart Super Saver) and an H/5mm size crochet hook.
Rainbow Mermaid Tail Blanket / Scarf
Mermaids are mythical, magical creatures that always bring a smile to your face. Perhaps the only thing more likely to do is a rainbow-combine the two and you've got a practically perfect pattern!
This crochet pattern uses a shell stitch that looks a lot like the scales of a mermaid. In addition to crochet shell stitch, this pattern uses post stitches as well as basic stitches, including double crochet.
What's really neat about this crochet pattern is that it's designed as a classic mermaid tail blanket, but it can also be adapted to wear as a scarf.
Marvelous Mermaid Tail Blanket
This week on the blog there has been a Fishing Net Blanket and a Mermaid Baby blanket, so let's keep that theme going with now a Marvelous Mermaid Tail Blanket. The Mermaid Blanket is designed for older children (about 3-12 years). This blanket is fun to make and bulky projects are quick projects too. Do you know of a little girl who would love to be a mermaid and can do that while being comfortable snuggled up reading a book or watching tv? The Mermaid Blanket uses basic crochet stitches to make this design.
