This crochet afghan designed with the gorgeous Caron Cakes yarn will take a permanent place near your fireplace. The warm colors on this colorway flow seamlessly making it look all the more toasty and comfortable. The perfect blend of colors that would make you want to curl up and read a book.
Do you love curling up with a good book, a cozy blanket and a cup of hot cocoa? Then the Book Nook Tunisian Throw is the blanket you want! Perfect for cold winter days, fireplaces, and cuddling. The Book Nook is a Tunisian throw that uses super bulky yarn, a super large hook (19/15mm Tunisian cable hook), and has a 2 row repeat that works up fast. Which leaves you with more time for using it!
This Little Couch Potato Siesta Blanket was crocheted over the course of one weekend (at a relaxed pace), with 3 cakes of Pool Party Bernat Blanket Stripes yarn. The yarn was easy to work with and except for the final row of the project I let the colors come out of the yarn cake as they were dyed. The last row I removed a small section in the dark blue in order to use the next color in the ball to complete the final 2 rows in the same color. Two separate colors over the final 2 rows did not fit with the flow of the rest of the blanket. So if you end up in a similar place after you reach row 50 consider cutting out a small section and allowing the next section to take it's place to make the blanket color flow a bit more smoothly. This was a very relaxed and simple project to crochet. I love the striped effect created by the yarn and not having to sew in a bunch of yarn ends! Great for gifts, baby showers, children, floor blankets and cuddle time! Drew's finished blanket measures 40 inches wide and 36 inches long. The stitch multiple is 2+1 so you can create this to any size you wish easily.

The puff stitches make this crochet ripple blanket incredibly warm. It can be a cozy car seat cover for you baby or a snugly afghan for you to curl up under as you spend a chilly evening with a book. A dwindling fireplace can't compete with the sunny feeling of being enveloped in a sea of warmth.
"This crochet pattern is for a basic, chunky, beautifully textured corner to corner afghan. Worked in two strands of worsted weight yarn (or one strand of chunky weight yarn), this cozy afghan works up fairly quickly. My afghan is worked in a solid color, but you could use some Caron Cakes yarn (or similar) for an easy, colorful afghan, or change colors as you see fit. For my blanket, I used about 8.33 (1/3) Skeins of Hobby Lobby's I Love This Yarn in the Ivory colorway (two strands held together). In it's place, you could use one strand of chunky/bulky (#5) yarn. Take a gauge. If you don't mind a slight difference in measurements, gauge isn't essential. You could even go up a hook size, and use super bulky yarn for a larger blanket. This afghan took me just over 11 hours to work up."
