To begin with, this project is made using the Ribbed Diamond Blanket pattern. This pattern is especially interesting, because it mainly uses texture to delineate the constituent diamonds from one another. Combined with the velvet yarn, this is a blanket fit for a king.

Diamond Quilt C2c Graphgan
The Diamond Quilt C2C Graphgan is a crochet pixel blanket pattern with a modern look that features (almost) all the colors of Caron Little Crafties! Or you can use all those special odds and ends of your favorite colors and remember your favorite past projects - like a real quilt! Of course, I also needed a background yarn - and Caron Simply Soft is the perfect yarn to combine with the Little Crafties! I chose white, but I think this blanket would be amazing with black or gray as the backdrop for the diamonds. Just switch out the black or gray diamonds with the white Little Crafties skein! Both written instructions and a graph are included. I tried to match the colors in the graph to the actual yarn colors and create a random-ish arrangement, but of course, you can rearrange these colors however you like!
Soft And Sweet Textured Velvet Crochet Blanket
"This soft and sweet textured velvet crochet blanket feels like it should be used in an expensive hotel SPA. Use modern crochet stitches paired with Bernat Baby Velvet yarn to crochet this luxurious throw. Soft and Squishy Afghan The combination of front post double crochet and back post double crochet paired with this silky yarn create a soft and squishy Afghan. When my daughter ran her hands across this blanket, she snuggled her face against the yarn. She said the fluffy and soft blanket was the plushest feeling one yet. We think it is because of the added texture created by the crochet stitches and the fluffy yarn. Pair this bulky yarn with the right stitch and you have a winner. The pattern is a two-row repeat consisting of a row of single crochet, which ads a bit of stability to the entire project. The next row uses a special stitch pattern alternating the front post double crochet and back post double crochet stitches."

I do plan on having a piece of fleece sewn onto the back of this afghan before I give it as a gift to make it much warmer and leaving no holes for the babies fingers to get stuck in.

Velvet Yarn Crochet Blanket
"This velvet yarn crochet blanket is soft and squishy. The plush blanket is so comfortable to cover up with. I feel like I am in an expensive hotel spa staying cozy under a fancy and expensive afghan. See How Easy Making a Velvet Crochet Afghan can be Making a luxurious velvet yarn afghan can be done successfully. Once I had a chance to work with this yarn, I was gliding along effortlessly. The result is a plush and warm blanket to snuggle up with. This crochet pattern uses a row of single crochet alternatively with a row of back loop double crochet. The single crochet row provides a bit of stability for the double crochet row and together, they create a lovely textured blanket. To keep this diy project easy, I did not add a crochet border to this afghan. Further, using just one color means less yarn ends to weave in."
