"The Striped Hourglass Square is a great addition to the Moogly Crochet Along - or any squares-based project! Play with color and texture in this free crochet pattern on Moogly! I designed this square using Red Heart With Love, because it's the official yarn of the MooglyCAL2021. And the reason it's the official yarn is that it comes in tons of colors. But even more importantly, it's super easy to care for and family (and pet) friendly - and therefore great for gifting too! Hexi Askew Square
This 12 (30.5 cm) square starts with a hexagon. Crossed double crochet and popcorn stitches add texture. This square was designed for the sixth annual Moogly Crochet Along. Skills Used Basic crochet stitches: chain, double crochet, half double crochet, single crochet, slip stitch, treble (triple) crochet Crocheting in the round, increasing, crocheting into chain spaces, skipping stitches, crocheting into skipped stitches, crocheting in the back loop only Special stitches: cdc, cl, and popcorn (with video tutorials linked in the pattern) Skill Level Intermediate Finished Size Motif: 12 (30.5 cm) square. Materials Red Heart With Love yarn (100% acrylic, 7 oz/198 g/370 yd/338 m) - 1 skein each in 1502 Iced Aqua (CA), 1803 Blue Hawaii (CB), and 1441 Light Gray (CC), or approximately 55 yd (50.5 m) in CA and 32 yd (29 m) each in CB and CC in any medium weight yarn. US Size J-10/6 mm crochet hook, or size needed to obtain gauge. Yarn needle. Stitch markers (optional). Gauge Motif = 12 (30.5 cm) square in pattern. Exact gauge is not critical for this project
Striped Flower Garden
The Striped Flower Garden square features a dimensional flower in the center, and then square rounds of different colors and sizes to the edge. When made in worsted weight yarn such as Red Heart With Love, the square is 12″. Due to the texture, the Striped Flower Garden square would also look lovely in one solid color. You could even make a blanket with multiple squares each made of a different color. Get creative and have fun!
Secret Garden 12 Square
"This gorgeous floral textured square comes in two different styles. One is flat and lacy, the other has lots of 3D details on the petals! Back post stitches create the texture around the corners and along the edges of the square. I recommend using Red Heart Super Saver, Red Heart With Love, or Red Heart Soft to crochet these blocks with. Easter Chick Granny Square
"While I was on Pinterest, getting ideas for my Bunny Granny Square of this year's Easter, many lovely pictures of chicks popped up in front of me, in the form of amigurumi, coasters and granny squares. So, as soon as I finished designing my previous one, I started planning this new granny square. As a whole, I'm proud of my animal themed granny squares set so far, and I hope the future ones will be as cute and easy to make too.
