"I had so much fun with this one. I wanted to design something with various colors and stitches. I used bobbles and star stitches. I love the look it created. I think it has a summery look- you could use any colors to give it a different feel. I also learned something- 124 is a horrible number for pattern repeats. It's not divisible by very many numbers. I'm not the best at math so it made me a little crazy. My husband even tried to help. But, in the end, I got it sorted out."

TagsPerfect Day Market Tote
The Perfect Day Market Tote was inspired by all my trips to the local farmer’s market this season - the start to a perfect summer day! But you don't have to take it to the market - it's handy wherever you go. And it's a free crochet pattern on Moogly! This is a big, big market bag - but the clever thing about this pattern is that you can actually make it any size! Instructions for this is included. I made the Perfect Day Market Tote in three lovely neutral shades of Red Heart Scrubby Smoothie - it's the perfect yarn for this project! And it comes in tons of colors - so I can't wait to see which ones you choose for your Perfect Bag!
1 Skein Farmer's Market Bag
Don't go to farmers markets without a tote of your own - make sure to bring along the 1 Skein Farmer's Market Bag. In the designer's own words, "this slouchy farmer’s market bag is perfect for shopping and hauling all kinds of goodies! It only uses one skein of yarn and can be used countless times instead of those icky plastic bags that really hurt our planet. I recommend using a cotton yarn for durability but photographed is an acrylic (I Love This Yarn in Pasha). Hope you guys enjoy this one, don't forget to post as a project so I can see your beautiful bags!
Mediterranean Market Tote
My favorite thing about big tote bags is they can be used for pretty much anything. This Mediterranean Market Tote (named after the beautiful, bold colors) can be used as a grocery bag at the farmer's market, or carried as an over-sized purse. This particular crochet bag pattern calls for 7 different colors, but if you skip the stripes, you can make it using only 3 skeins of yarn. If you do crochet the stripes, you'll only need less than 50 yards of each color, so this crochet tote is also a great stash buster project, too.
Sunrise Market Crochet Tote
Make this Sunrise Market Crochet Tote to carry your yarn project or for a trip to the farmer's market. This crochet bag features a unique texture stitch that works up fairly quick. A crochet bag pattern that uses worsted weight yarn like this one does could make a fabulous stash buster. Plus, this crochet bag will look good in any combination of colors, so don't be afraid to go wild with your yarn. You could create an amazing crochet market bag to carry just about anything, whether it's for work, home, or play.
The June Market Tote
The June Tote is a lightweight reusable bag great for your summer essentials or strolling through the farmer’s market. Two handles allows this market tote to be handheld or slung over your shoulder. Make one, make two or make a few to keep on hand for the grocery store. I've included a photo tutorial on how to get this bag started. I used one of my favorite stitches, what I call the v-arch. It's just a v-stitch with ch 3 instead of ch 1, but I love it. I first used it in my summer poncho/coverup The Merletto Poncho.
