"This tote bag is comprised up of floral afghan squares that were inspired by Hydrangeas, and also features a beautiful ribbed pattern. As far as the lining goes, in the past, I have crocheted other tote bags that I chose not to line, and I ended up really disappointed with how much they stretched out, so I made sure with this one that I added a lining to the bag itself, and the strap. I highly recommend if you will be carrying around anything with a little weight. I used Red Heart Super Saver, which is a pretty durable yarn, however, I think a cotton yarn such as Lily Sugar n Cream would have been a better option for something that will keep a lot of use, and dragged around from one place to another. The cotton option will also make the bag a little larger."

Dip Dyed Sunglass Pouch
"This bag is worked using a simple single crochet stitch worked into the back loop to create this fun, ribbed pattern paired with a trendy color block pattern. It's finished with a snap button, but an alternative to this would be to leave off the flap, crochet a chain loop instead, and sewing on a respective sized button. You'll need about 50 yards of worsted weight yarn - I've used Lily Sugar n Cream for mine. I recommend cotton yarn because it's more durable, and this bag will most likely see a lot of use, and being pulled and pushed around in a larger bag/purse."
Watermelon Slice Sunglass Pouch
"I created this sunglass pouch as part of a challenge where the theme was Summer. It inspired me to share this fun, easy and quick little crochet pattern perfect for the Summer staple seen everywhere - sunglasses! You'll need a small amount of worsted weight yarn in red, white, black and green. I've used Lily Sugar n Cream for mine, but WeCrochet Dishie and Red Heart Smoothie are great alternatives. I recommend cotton since a sunglass pouch sees a lot of wear and tear in, out and around a bag. The pouch took me just over 30 minutes to work up."
2 Squares Crochet Bag
This is as simple as making two grannie squares and sewing them together, but it looks far more elaborate and beautiful when it's done. Two simple but beautiful sunburst granny squares make for the foundation of the bag, but it can be customized in so many ways. The strap is a basic I-cord, which can be color coordinated, but you can also experiment with leather etc. The lining is optional but I highly recommend the lining, which is also a free and fairly simple tutorial.
Crochet Bag Handles pattern
Here's another pattern to make a non-stretchy crochet strap: using fishing line! I think the best thing about using fishing line to make sure your crochet strap is non-stretchy is that it doesn't add a whole lot of fiddling about with your project.
You won't have to make extra pieces or do anything fancy. Just make sure the fishing line follows along with each stitch and you're all set to go.
