Summer retro style meets function and versatility in this fun crochet hexagon tote bag. I used an easy hexagon pattern and added a little visual interest by adding a pop of color, to create the main portion of the bag. Basic crochet stitches were then used to form the bag’s solid, sturdy bottom and strap.

Chasing Diamonds Bag
This bag is just so fun, retro and chic! Perfect hand bag with a cross body chevron strap. With just a small section of tapestry crochet worked in just 2 colors, this would make a great introduction to this fabulous color technique! Full color graph is provided for the tapestry crochet section of the bag as well. At approximately 8” tall (excluding strap) x 13” wide, this bag is the perfect everyday go-to size. Line and add a zipper, if desired. Optional d-rings are crocheted directly to the bag for ease of construction and then strap is sewn to d-rings at the end. Strap is a retro chevron design to mimic the diamond design element of the bag. As written, strap is approximately 37” long once sewn to bag allowing the bag to be worn cross-body. However, instructions are provided to resize the strap as well
Pop Tab Tote
Finished size of this tote is: 9-1/2" X 11-1/2". It was made using Bernat Baby Sport yarn and size F crochet hook. You will also need 256 pop tabs. (160 pop tabs for the tote and 96 pop tabs for the tote's handles.) The pop tabs are threaded onto the yarn and then crochet into the motif as you work. Each motif is joined as you so to make it a fairly fast project. The sides and bottom are then crochet and sewn onto the tot'es front and back to complete the project.
Thermal Stitch Crochet Crossbody Bag Strap
The thermal stitch creates a nice and sturdy strap for crochet bags! This pattern walks you through the process of adding a strap to your favorite crochet bags and even explains how to crochet onto a D ring or split key ring for added durability.
The thermal stitch, like any crochet stitch, will stretch a little bit, but it is a tried and true method for making robust bag straps.

And this delightful hexagon crochet tote bag makes me all kinds of happy. It's two colors of yarn, people. I know. That middle bit? Yup.. a delicious variegated yarn. When I found these two fall beauties, I knew exactly the project: A crochet hexagon tote!"
Chevron Bucket Bag Free Crochet Pattern
"This bucket crochet bag was designed initially for I Like Crochet magazine for the Chevron Collection issue. I wanted the colors to be somewhat neutrals, so I chose jute as the main color and added light pink and white to add some color and interest into the bag. The pattern is worked in the round from the bottom to the top. At the top of the bag, we create eyelets to add a drawstring and a dainty metal strap is added to the bag (you can also use a fabric strap). The bag is comfortable and light, but big enough to carry all your essentials."
