Sky Walk Tunisian Chevron Shawl

"The shawl is a great accessory for chilly mornings and late evenings when you only need a little something over your shoulders. In the spirit of the theme of the colour of the year, this colour combination is reminiscent of the many shades of blue of late evening and night sky. This pattern was featured in Happily Hooked Magazine July 2020. The shawl is worked flat with RS always facing; the pattern consists of alternating three colour sections: 6 rows in MC, 3 rows in CC1, 6 rows in MC and 3 rows in CC2. The first and last colour sections are in MC."

Big Sky Shawl

Life is often hard, and even the clearest skies have clouds sometimes. And as crocheters, we can make it better. One way is by making prayer or comfort shawls for those who need an extra hug, and to feel our love. The Big Sky Shawl was designed with this idea in mind - while maintaining a sense of style. The Big Sky Shawl is made with Lion Brand Homespun, a favorite yarn for those crafting for others. It's warm, soft, and the yarn creates the texture - which means simple stitches shine. And the Big Sky Shawl does indeed use simple stitches, so almost anyone can make this easy crochet prayer shawl pattern! The colors I used for the Big Sky Shawl are Montana Sky and Clouds - appropriate, no? Streaks of gray cut through the blue sky, but there is more blue than gray, to remind us of the bright times to come. The shaping creates a triangular shawl that's more V shaped than anything, with corners that wrap easily around the shoulders to stay in place. And it doesn't just help the person you give it to - it helps you too! Studies have shown time and again how crocheting improves our mental health, making this an excellent way to help others while you help yourself. You can wear the Big Sky shawl across the shoulders as a standard shawl, or wrapped around the neck with the point in front - either way, the optional tassels on the points help keep it where you put it. It's only 20 rows long (plus a couple rounds for the border), so you can whip one up in a just a few evenings.

This Gray Chevron Easy Crochet Scarf does just that, with its calming gray tone and gentle chevron waves. This easy crochet pattern only uses three types of stitches-chain, single, and double-so you can master the chevron crochet pattern without having to jump through crazy hoops to get there. "This stylish triangular shawl uses a double-ended crochet hook and Tunisian Brioche for a beautifully textured and airy look. This shawl is crocheted using Brioche technique and requires the use of double-ended hook. Unlike most Tunisian crochet projects, this shawl is NOT worked with RS always facing, the work is turned after each FP, resulting in a reversible fabric. At the end of each FP, slide all lps to the other end of the hook, then change colour before working the RP. Starting with Row 2, you will decrease 1 st at the start of alternating RPs. Keep you tension even with special attention to first and last sts in each row as these have the tendency to become disproportionately enlarged. "
