Crochet Daisy Baby Blanket

I've made a daisy blanket for our very own book and I couldn't be more excited to share this project with you!

I've always had a dream to publish a children's picture book and luckily I have a very talented sister who is an artist and helped me make my dream a reality.

Dream Puffs Crochet Blanket

When I started designing the Dream Puffs Crochet Blanket, I thought it would be a baby blanket - but this stitch is so darn squishy I decided it's for everybody! So here is the Dream Puffs Crochet Blanket free crochet pattern in 5 sizes - you're going to love cuddling up in this one! The Dream Puffs Crochet Blanket uses this fantastic V-stitch and puff stitch combo move that makes for an easy pattern to memorize that creates tons of texture, loft, and warmth. The lovely color changes are created by using two colorways of Lion Brand Scarfie - a self-striping yarn worked in stripes! I used two colorways with a lot in common, but I can't wait to see what combos you all come up with!

Blooming Granny Square Baby Afghan

Several years ago I hosted a crochet-along for a stitch sampler blanket and one of the squares was the Blooming Granny Square. In the CAL we did small squares as the learning swatch size. Well, one of my contactors loved the look of the small blooming granny square so she made several, seamed them together then added the same border we used for the stitch sampler blanket to her new blanket and voila! The minute I saw it I knew I needed to purchase the sample and publish it as an option for that very cute square. So, let's say thank you to Jennifer Purtee for her vision and enjoy this fun pattern. If you find you are having trouble with the stitch pattern you can always watch the video for the square I did for the CAL. It is a a step-by-step video tutorial that can be found on the Marly Bird YouTube Channel. By the way, have you subscribed to my YouTube Channel yet?

Diamond Lace Afghan Pattern

I have a sister in law that is expecting her first child! Maybe you remember her from one of my past projects she modeled for me. Hats, shawls and scarves. She's helped me a lot! I wanted to make something special baby blanket for her. When I first saw this stitch I knew it would be perfect! I loved how there were diamonds in the spaces as well as the solid diamonds. A shifting into something else, just like she is'. a Mother. I do plan on having a piece of fleece sewn onto the back of this afghan before I give it as a gift to make it much warmer and leaving no holes for the babies fingers to get stuck in.

Modern Double Crochet V-Stitch Chunky Blanket

This modern double crochet v-stitch chunky blanket is a wedding gift. I have had this Caron One Pound yarn in my stash for a while now. Thought it was time to get something made with it. The blanket had to be large enough to cover a queen sized bed. As you can see from the photo, it is large enough. Not too large though so that one or two people can snuggle under it. Additionally, this had to be warm enough to be the go-to blanket on our cold winter nights. Using two strands of yarn makes this a fun and chunky blanket. It also makes for a very warm blanket. I will miss having this cover me up while crocheting when it is below zero here this week. Brrrr. The double crochet stitch is a quick stitch to master and once the pattern is started, there is really little need to count. For me, this makes for a great crochet pattern to work on while watching movies. I think this is a great beginner stitch once you have mastered the double crochet stitch. It is always easy to see where you need to insert your hook in the previous row.
