Do you love quilting and crochet? Because you’re in luck with the Linen Log Cabin Square! It’s a combination of a very classic design, the Log Cabin, but uses the linen stitch to give it a little more texture and dimension. This design is a quick and fun way to use up the many odds and ends of yarn you (and I) have all over the place. This crochet granny square is a stunning work made using the Bargello technique. Work up a few of these granny squares and join them together for a uniquely beautiful crochet granny square afghan. The end result is a beautifully textured granny square that will instantly draw the eye of anyone who walks past it.In the designer's own words, "Bargello technique has long been used in embroidery (Florentine embroidery). I thought, why not try to crochet pattern in this technique? The essence of this technique is to use different blending colors and combinations of them so that there were flames, waves, peaks. In the Bargello technique, you can associate a square from the center, a circle or a round motif. It'd be chic to crochet Bargello blankets, bedspreads, pillowcases, and cushion for chairs."
Practice the popcorn stitch with this quick crochet granny square pattern!
From the blogger: "During my square designing kick, I first made the Native Sun Square, which had great texture. It was followed by the Mingle Square and the Primrose Square, which are equally as beautiful, but lacking the textures. So, I knew I had to make another that just 'popped.' The design of this 6-inch square reminds me of Victorian-era decor. Plus, the pop stitches look like hearts! This square would be great for many projects, but I definitely like it for an afghan."
