When I designed this baby blanket, the snow just started melting and the fresh grass shoots were showing up in places. I wanted the Spring Vibes Baby Blanket to reflect just that. The white and grey blanket reminds me of the melted snow and the green, busy edging resembles the fresh grass. For this blanket, I use 2 strands of double knit yarn held together, one strand of white and one of grey, and the granny stripe stitch for the pattern. For the border, I use just one strand of double knit yarn in green and the layered scallops border.

Thinking Of Spring Crochet Afghan
Thinking of Spring Crochet Afghan is helping me get through these winter days of cold weather and snow. I just love how the soft sage, off white, and rose yarns look together. Reminds me of new grass, tulips, and melting snow. Columns of double crochet and skipped stitches create pretty open squares that look like window panes. Add a block stitched border and one last round of the sage yarn to finish off the gorgeous blanket. If you compare the photo above where I just started adding on the border and the photo below where the border is complete…I just think the edging makes this entire afghan pop.

Suzette's Chunky Afghan
"This crochet pattern is for a chunky, beautifully textured afghan featuring the Suzette stitch pattern, which is comprised of simple single and double crochets. Worked in two strands of worsted weight yarn (or one strand of chunky weight yarn), this cozy afghan works up fairly quickly. For my afghan, I used I Love This Yarn approximately 2.33 skeins of Black, 3 skeins of Red, and 1.5 skeins of White (two strands held together). In it's place, you could use one strand of chunky/bulky (#5) yarn. Take a gauge. If you don't mind a slight difference in measurements, gauge isn't essential. You could even go up a hook size, and use super bulky yarn for a larger blanket. This afghan took me just over 11.5 hours to work up."
