The crochet pattern for this bag was created specifically with variegated yarn in mind. Yarns that have a quick-changing color can be tricky to work with, as they steal the show and diminish stitch definition. Sometimes (a lot of the time), simple really is best. You'll only need 1 skein of solid color worsted weight yarn for the bottom and top, and one variegated for the body. Two solid colors (or more) would look great too! I used Loops and Threads Impeccable, that created the best "spiraling" effect with this crochet bag. Red Heart Soft looked pretty too, but in a different way, sort of speckled. There's more pictures if you click on the pattern link. Take a look and grab your hook!

Simple Tote
"Crochet a simple and minimalist tote bag. This is a quick tote to crochet and doesn't use much yarn (about 140 yards of bulky weight yarn). The tote will hold all your necessary items (wallet, phone, credit cards, hand sanitizer and more). Beginners will love this tote as the pattern calls for only basic crochet stitches: chain, single crochet and half double crochet. Grab a skein of bulky weight #5 yarn, an L hook and a couple bamboo handles - enjoy!"
Tilted Heart Tote
Other supplies needed: Leisure Arts Diamond Art Heart Kit Hole Punch (approx. 1/4”/6mm hole) Purse Handles Fabric for lining (optional) The Tilted Heart Tote is blingy, fun, roomy, and a unique combination of yarn and a very special fabric! Photo tutorial included! The Tilted Heart Tote features the Leisure Arts Diamond Kit in the Heart Design, which inspired the rest of the tote, and is clearly the centerpiece! While I took inspiration from the fabric in the Heart Design for my pattern, you could use this same idea for any of the Beginner Kits, which have a finished area of 8.7″ x 8.7″. Cactus Tote
Problem: You have one skein of Flikka or Comfy Cotton Blend in your stash and don't know what to do with it. Solution: I made you a tote pattern! And it's free! You'll also need a little Worsted and a little Super Bulky. I used the Flikka color Dill Pickle because I couldn't resist the adorable name. Once I got the yarn home it reminded me so much of a cactus that I hopped on the cactus trend bandwagon and whipped up my version of a cactus tote complete with a big blooming flower! This tote has lots of pretty details both small (a subtle fan stitch and surface crocheted strap) and big (aforementioned flower). And it doubles as a purse! The tote takes about 4-6 hours. I hope you enjoy the pattern!!
