Paliki Pocket Tote

Crochet Bags

Paliki means “small” in Hungarian (or so I'm told). And this pocket tote is small, but sturdy - perfect for when you need a bag that won't stretch out, keeping your farmer’s market purchases safe and protected! A great addition to your usual assortment of bags, the Paliki Pocket Tote is the one that's “just right” for all those small special items! Wondering what a “pocket tote” is? It's a tote that folds up into itself, perfect for stashing in your purse or car so you always have it when you need it. This one also features a pretty ribbon woven through the handle. That's not just for looks - the ribbon keeps the handle from stretching out due to the weight of your goodies. And the double layer on the bottom adds even more stability to this handy crochet bag!

I recommend using a cotton yarn for durability but photographed is an acrylic (I Love This Yarn in Pasha). 4luck Market Bag

Crochet Bags

"This cute little bag is perfect for a quick trip when you're just picking up a couple things at the store. Or, you can always use it as your day to day purse. I mean, it is that stinking cute! For my bag, I used Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK, which is a medium wight 3 DK yarn. Cotton is usually best to use for a market bag because they then to stretch less after blocking. I used 375 yards to create my bag. Also, this bag does well with a lining. You don't have to line it (most market bags are not lined, and they stretch quite a bit, but I lined mine because I don't like the stretching! But, do what makes you happy!"

Market Bag Free Crochet Pattern

Crochet Bags

This Crochet Market Bag would be great for shopping at the grocery store or farmer’s market, carrying other crochet projects or going to the pool. Basic crochet stiches - single crochet, half double crochet and double crochet stitches are all you need to know to make this Market Bag. The instructions have detailed directions for crocheting the handle. The bag measures approximately 16" x 9” (not including the handles). The handles are short and sturdy. Some shoulder straps really stretch and almost make the bag unusable, so I created this bag to be a ‘handbag’ and not a shoulder bag.
