This simple shawlette recipe can be customized to your preferred size (or, to use up just the right amount of yarn!). This shawlette is perfect for accessorizing, keeping you cozy when it gets suddenly cold, or protecting your neck in air conditioning. Red Heart Boutique Unforgettable, a self-patterning yarn, does all the colorwork for you. Triangulation Shawlette

"This simple, triangular shawlette combines two beloved stitch patterns – the “granny” stitch and the v-stitch – with a self-patterning yarn that does the colorwork for you. Skills Used Basic crochet stitches: chain, double crochet, half double crochet, single crochet, slip stitch Crocheting flat in rows, increasing, skipping stitches, crocheting in chain spaces Special stitches: v-st (with written instructions and linked video tutorial in pattern) Skill Level Easy Finished Size Adjustable. Photographed sample measures 48” (122 cm) wingspan x 26” (66 cm) spine. Materials Red Heart Colorscape yarn (100% acrylic, 3.5 oz/100 g, 187 yd/171 m) – 3 skeins in 6342 Montreal, or approximately 400 yd (366 m) in any medium weight yarn. US Size M-13/9 mm crochet hook, or any size needed to obtain correct gauge. Yarn needle. Gauge 12 sts (including ch-1 sp) in pattern = 4” (10 cm) before blocking. This triangular, color-blocked shawl uses the granny stitch and is edged with a v-stitch border. Wear it as a scarf in the winter and as a shawl in the warmer weather. This pattern was designed for ELK Studio’s 2019 Make It For Me Event. Skills Used Basic crochet stitches: chain, double crochet, single crochet, slip stitch Crocheting flat in rows, increasing, skipping stitches, crocheting in chain spaces Skill Level Easy Finished Size Adult: 54.5” (138.5 cm) wingspan x 26.5” (67.5 cm) spine unblocked. Materials Red Heart It’s a Wrap yarn (50% cotton/50% acrylic, 7 oz/200 g, 1,100 yd/1,006 m) – 1 skein in 9324 Thriller, or approximately 980 yd (896 m) in any super fine weight yarn. US F-5/3.75 mm crochet hook, or any size needed to obtain correct gauge. Yarn needle. Stitch marker (optional). Gauge Rows 1-4 = 4” (10 cm) across straight edge. Exact gauge is not critical for this project.
