I'm always thinking about intricate pieces and some of these shawls that are simply works of art. Many are stunning and gorgeous, but I always fall back on timeless, classic, and simple pieces that I can wear every day.

Deep Blue Beginner Shawl
This beginner triangle shawl pattern is easy to make smaller or larger. Simply crochet a repeat of R2 an even number of times - this will allow the edging to work for the shawl. This is crocheted in a lighter weight yarn, so the shawl is also lighter weight when you are wearing it. It is not heavy like a blanket. This simple shawl is an everyday shawl. Something you can make and wear for comfort, with your cozy pants, or just to keep the chill off when you are sitting on your back deck enjoying a cup of coffee (or glass of your favorite wine). This shawl will also work well as a Prayer Shawl or for donation purposes. I designed this slightly larger because I am larger myself (a petite 3X) and I wanted a shawl I could wear out on my back deck! My sister, Kelley, is modelling the shawl for the photos and she is much daintier and a size Small . It is an oversized shawl for her.
Moon Goddess Crescent Shawl
Crescent shawls are easier to tie than triangle shawls. Like triangle shawls, they can also be worn as scarves or shawls. This simple pattern is perfect for highlighting a special yarn to make an accessory you can wear year-round. This pattern was designed for the Make It For Me event with ELK Studio. Skills Used Basic crochet stitches: chain, double crochet, single crochet Crocheting flat in rows, increasing, crocheting in chain spaces Skill Level Easy Finished Size Adult: 50” (127 cm) wingspan at widest points x 19” (48 cm) spine. Materials Serendipidye Dyeworks Kings Mountain O'Sparkle DK yarn (75% superwash Merino wool/20% nylon/5% stellina, 3.5 oz/100 g, 230 yd/210 m) - 3 skeins in Tink, or approximately 620 yd/567 m in any light weight yarn. US Size H-8/5 mm crochet hook, or any size needed to obtain correct gauge. Yarn needle. Gauge Exact gauge is not critical for this project. Use a crochet hook larger than you would for this weight of yarn to achieve a drape that you prefer.

Asymmetrical Shawl Free Crochet Pattern
Trying out my hand at designing a crochet Asymmetrical shawl. I've made several Butterfly Shawls designs and wanted to try something new. I really like the way you can wear these Asymmetrical shawls, it's reminds me something between a cowl and a regular shawl the way I've seen it worn. I found the perfect stitch that looks great from both sides. Me and my husband actually like the way the back of the stitch looks better than the front side of the stitch. Which for us makes this a double sided Asymmetrical shawl! I'll let you decide. I really hope you enjoy this Asymmetrical shawl as much as I did making it.
