Our youngest, Mark, is turning 7 this month. Since he loves dinosaurs, I thought it would be fun to make a dinosaur blanket for him and share the pattern with you all. I hope you love it as much as Mark does! You'll need an I/5.5mm crochet hook and worsted weight yarn in gray, two shades of green, a tiny bit of black and orange. Diamond Quilt C2c Graphgan
The Diamond Quilt C2C Graphgan is a crochet pixel blanket pattern with a modern look that features (almost) all the colors of Caron Little Crafties! Or you can use all those special odds and ends of your favorite colors and remember your favorite past projects - like a real quilt! Of course, I also needed a background yarn - and Caron Simply Soft is the perfect yarn to combine with the Little Crafties! I chose white, but I think this blanket would be amazing with black or gray as the backdrop for the diamonds. Just switch out the black or gray diamonds with the white Little Crafties skein! Both written instructions and a graph are included. I tried to match the colors in the graph to the actual yarn colors and create a random-ish arrangement, but of course, you can rearrange these colors however you like!
Unicorn Character Afghan
I am so excited to share that my Unicorn Character Afghan is finally done! I had so much fun with the entire process; from designing the pixel graphs to crocheting and watching each graph look more and more like each unicorn character. My free pattern includes a pixel graph and a written pattern for each of the four unicorn characters: llamacorn, unicorn, caticorn and puppycorn. I used worsted weight yarn (Red Heart Super Saver) and an H/5mm size crochet hook.
Godzilla Blanket
"My husband and my youngest, both named Mark, are big Godzilla fans. Mark had been asking me to make a Godzilla blanket for him so I designed the graphs and got started. That was well over a year ago. I kept taking breaks to design patterns for my blog. Mark kept checking in on my progress so I finally decided to give myself a deadline. I told him that he would have his blanket by his birthday (August 20th). Thankfully, I finished it in time and he loves it! "
Bear c2c Baby Blanket
I think Woodland animals are adorable so I thought it would be fun to design some c2c blankets inspired by these cute little guys. You can stitch the four animals (Raccoon, Fox, Owl and Bear) together to create one larger afghan, use a larger hook size to make individual blankets, or, attach an individual graph to a dowel rod and hang it on the wall for some adorable wall art! There You Go Throw
The There You Go Throw is a two tone join as you go blanket made of 6-inch squares - graphic, eye-catching, and so much fun to crochet! Fans of My Big Fat Greek Wedding might understand the inspiration for the name! When I was trying to come up with a name (always the hardest part!), I was talking to some friends about how it reminded me so much of Greek graphic patterns - especially the colors! - and the movie came up. My friend Terri loves it as much as I do, and we decided to quote the character Gus, who loves to explain how things are Greek (even things that aren’t), and always ends it with ”…there you go!” Much like some of Gus’s explanations, this blanket isn’t Greek, but it is join as you go (aka quick to crochet), based on the basic granny square, and ready to make in any size desired for the perfect gift or personal pick-me-up - so There You Go!
