Boux Asymmetrical Shawl

When sat there working the Boux rectangle shawl up which you can find here, i came up with the idea of doing an asymmetrical shawl using the same stitch pattern. Now i will be very honest, in the past when designing an asymmetrical shawl i always used the filet crochet method and i had never designed a shawl with an actual stitch pattern so it took a little more working out than normal (but not as much as the one that i am currently working on, new pattern coming soon YAY!) but the Boux asymmetrical shawl turned out just how i wanted it and it is actually one of my most personal favorites to date, i think because there was a sense of achievement in something i had never done before.

Boux Shawl

The Boux shawl is a very easy beginner shawl pattern with a lovely mesh look which makes it very light and airy for a worsted weight shawl. When i worked this pattern up i will be honest i wasn’t expecting it to be so long but i think because of how the stitches are it made it a lot longer than my other shawl patterns, i mean it’s not a bad thing it was just quite unexpected but i still love how it turned out and even though its a one row repeat which can get boring quite fast i didn’t find this one did to be honest. I managed to work this one up in between homeschooling, my other job and running a house so it was a nice fast easy project on the hook.

Asymmetrical Shawl Free Crochet Pattern

Trying out my hand at designing a crochet Asymmetrical shawl. I've made several Butterfly Shawls designs and wanted to try something new. I really like the way you can wear these Asymmetrical shawls, it's reminds me something between a cowl and a regular shawl the way I've seen it worn. I found the perfect stitch that looks great from both sides. Me and my husband actually like the way the back of the stitch looks better than the front side of the stitch. Which for us makes this a double sided Asymmetrical shawl! I'll let you decide. I really hope you enjoy this Asymmetrical shawl as much as I did making it. This shawl measures Wide ← → = 31 inches or 130 cms Tall = 36 inches or 91 cms For this project you will need: HOOK: 4 mm hook or size G hook for the US YARN: 3 skeins of ply 3 yarn ply US, 8 ply AU Each skein is: 100 grams / 3.53 oz 280 meters / 307 yards a markerAsymmetrical Shawl Free Crochet Pattern

Devon Sideways Shawl Free Crochet Pattern

"Today’s free crochet pattern is the Devon Sideways Shawl and this beautiful shawl is a filet crochet pattern meaning that it just uses the double crochet stitch and the chain stitch. I designed a filet crochet blanket not long ago of broken chevrons and wanted to do that as a shawl but i got a bit carried away and in the end it didn’t end up as broken chevrons, it ended up as a double chevron but don’t worry the broken chevrons is still on my list to do. This crochet pattern is very easy as it consists of working it row by row, flat and sideways and it works up super quick! This shawl only took me 4 days to complete and then a few extra days for blocking. Even though this pattern is a filet crochet pattern i still like to block my shawls as it gives it more of a crisper finish and it lays more flat."Devon Sideways Shawl Free Crochet PatternClick here for the crochet pattern

Cara Shawl Free Crochet Pattern

"The Cara Shawl was a pleasure to design and create, i really loved how this one turned out, so light and airy. I love designing any asymmetrical shawl filet crochet patterns as anything kind of goes and most of the time you can adjust the size of them so they can fit everyone or to how you want it. This crochet pattern is very simple to make and once you get going it’s very easy to follow the repeats of the pattern which is what i like designing the most."Cara Shawl Free Crochet Pattern

Electric Blue Filet Crochet Shawl

This is a free crochet pattern for a beautiful crochet shawl pattern. The pattern uses filet crochet technique which is worked from a graph. The finished wrap is beautifully large and rectangular shape. It uses crochet thread and 2 mm hook but works up surprisingly faster than you would expect. This crochet shawl can be used as a wrap across your shoulders in warmer weather due to the larger size or as a big scarf in colder weather.
