Spring Placemat

Spring is here! Dress up your spring table with these colorful placemats. The center part is basic single crochet and I've added a little surface crochet striping for interest and texture. The sides are made in a zig zag look for a little extra fun, but don't worry it is very easy! Use as many colors as you like and use remnants for the contrasting colors to make this a stash buster too! Approximately 20” x 14” Designed in worsted weight cotton yarn

Mandala Placemat Free Crochet Pattern

If you are looking for the perfect housewarming gift or just a nice way to personalize your table, the Mandala Placemat Free Crochet Pattern is for you. A single colored placemat is easy to crochet with focus on the structure of the stitches. It's amazing how much little details can enhance the look of your home. Crochet placemats are often rectangular but they don't have to be. You can put a unique twist on the style at your dinner table by using these round placemats instead. They are also functional; they help to protect your table (or other surfaces) from spills, scratches and scrapes. Thanks Fille Wegler, Hortense and Kajsa Hubinette for sharing these free crochet patterns. The link for the free pattern is provided below photo. Happy crocheting.

Red, White, and Blue Plarn Crochet Placemats

Placemats like these would make a fabulous addition to your outdoor picnic table, especially when celebrating holidays like Memorial Day and the 4th of July. They are made with plarn, an interesting material to upcycle for use in crocheting placemats. This free pattern also comes with instructions for complementary plarn coasters.

Note that it's not recommended to use these placemats for hot dishes, but they're ideal when serving sandwiches, salad, pickles, or other similar picnic fares. Best of all, plarn is easy to make (for free) using readily available materials. And of course, you could opt to use different plastic bag colors to make similar crochet placemats without the red, white, and blue theme.

Mandala Placemat

If you are looking for the perfect wedding gift, housewarming gift or just a nice way to personalize your table, the Mandala Placemat pattern is for you. It is worked in the round, changing color for each round. Materials I used the following materials for this pattern: 3 mm hook Cotton yarn: In total, you will need 2 50g skeins of Schachenmayr Catania Originals per placemat. They have 96 colors for this yarn, you'll definitely find some for your placemats. I used 10 different colors but you can choose as many or as few you want. T-pins for blocking. Size The finished size of one placemat is 37 cm. It has taken me a lot of time and trial and error to decide on the best size. It had to be big enough so you can enjoy it when the table is set but not take too much room on the table so you can still seat people. So 37cm it is. Abbreviations I use UK notations. sl = slip stitch ch = chain dc = double crochet tr = treble crochet dtr = double treble crochet puff = puff stitch.

Granny's Scrappy Placemat

My Granny’s series features one round granny squares. This makes it really great for using up those tiny bits of yarn in your stash. If you don't need a placemat, use it as a larger doily. You'll need 282 yards of worsted weight yarn. As a placemat, I recommend cotton since it's more durable, but as a doily, acrylic works too. I used Lily Sugar n Cream for my placemat. Alternatively, I recommend WeCrochet Dishie (cotton) or Red Heart Super Saver (acrylic). I have included instructions to make a variety of sizes depending on your preference. This placemat took me about 8.25 hours to complete.

Ombre Holiday Table Runner And Placemats

This pretty crochet table runner and placemats are made with the traditional red and green holiday colors but are subtle enough that you can leave them out all fall and winter. No need to put them away after New Years'. My best friend quilts. Growing up, I was always helping my grandmother pick out the fabric and laying out squares for her quilts. I am just in love with quilt designs. It is probably not a surprise that this crochet table runner is inspired by a quilted table runner. You can probably imagine how the stripes for the tree could have been strips of material. Instead of quilting our table runner together, we are just going to change colors when we need to. To give this quilt a multi-color ombre look without buying tons of yarn, we will be using the Red Heart Super Saver Ombre.
