TagsLucia Sideways Shawl
Today's FREE crochet pattern is the Lucia Sideways Shawl as i mentioned last week a lot of you have requested no long starting chains so i have been working on a few sideway shawls for quite a while now. The Lucia Sideways Shawl is another lacy design which uses very basic crochet stitches but done in such a way which makes them look really intricate and elegant and that's what i love about most of the shawls i have designed, they look harder than they actually are.
Ferne Sideways Shawl
Today's free crochet pattern is the Ferne Sideways Shawl, this beautiful shawl is such a joy to make as it uses simple crochet stitches to make a minimalist design but still looks absolutely stunning on! When creating the Ferne Sideways Shawl i took the design from the Ferne Asymmetrical Shawl and created it sideways and even though it's the same design it still looks different. Working a shawl up in filet crochet makes this shawl a perfect quick and mindless project to make and only takes four days to do if you crochet 220 yards a day! Since this is a filet crochet pattern you will be working the shawl pattern in only double crochet and chain stitches, once you have crocheted rows 1-7 from then on you will only follow a four row pattern repeat which is super easy to remember.
Alice Sideways Shawl
"A lot of you have requested some side way shawls so you don't have to crochet a really long beginning starting chain and TA DA i have listened to you and i have created shawls for you lovely lot! Today's free crochet shawl is the Alice Sideways Shawl, even though the long starting chain shawls work up really quick, i must say this probably felt it worked up a bit quicker doing is sideways… who am i kidding i LOVE shawls whichever way!! The Alice Sideways Shawl is a beautiful lacy shawl with no difficult stitches as single crochet, double crochet and chain stitches are only used which makes it perfect for the beginner crocheter but still exciting enough for the more advanced crocheter."
Brianna Sideways Shawl Free Crochet Pattern
"The Brianna Sideways Shawl is a bit different than other shawls i have done as i normally design them lacy but this stitch really stood out to me and not everyone wants to have a shawl that has lots of lace so i combined moss stitch with puff stitches and then threw in some hdc stitches to give it a bit of a break from such confined stitches and i really think it works! Working moss stitch in to a piece gives it a textured look and this area actually worked up really quick even though it consists of chain and single crochet stitches. Because of the closed stitches i would recommend it being more of a autumn winter shawl but this would actually look great as a scarf also! Please note this is a beginner plus crochet pattern."
Kaylee Sideways Shawl Free Crochet Pattern
"Today's free crochet pattern is the Kaylee Sideways Shawl which features a very easy stitch design. The stitch used for this shawl only uses single and double crochet and chain stitches to create a mesh effect running all the way through the shawl. When i first started this shawl i did think this might take a while to do just because of the single crochet stitches but actually i made it in no time at all and it only used 4 skeins of cascade 220 in aran which is really good! Also when crocheting this shawl i only crocheted 66 inches in length because i could just tell due to the stitches that it was going to stretch quite a bit when blocking and boy did it, it went from 66 inches to 75 inches in length which is a lot of growth! So just bear that in mind when crocheting this shawl it is a grower, you really don't want it too long."
