Christmas is almost here and it's time to start thinking about what you're going to be giving your friends and family. One of the best gifts that I've found that people often don't think of, but really appreciate, are handmade items. A granny square is a popular crochet pattern that has been around for decades. It's used to create everything from afghans, clothing, and home decor items. This easy crochet project took me about 15 hours to make. So, if you have a few hours each day for a week, you can have this beauty done too.

Happy Flower Mandala

Why Happy Flowers? Because I've kind of convinced myself there are tulipy type flowers in rounds 6-7! And they make me happy! This is a quick, easy little mandala/ doily which is crocheted in bright 8 ply cotton yarns. This is a great way to use up some of those small leftover yarn balls in your stash. You can use it as a doily (like I do!), or frame it and hang on the wall. All you need is some 8 ply cottons, a 3.5mm hook, scissors and a needle to sew in your ends.
