Watermelon Coasters

I like my coasters in single crochet cotton. I think it makes them really absorbent (because who wants that icy glass to get water all over your tables). If you are like me, nothing quite says summer like watermelon. The days get longer. It's time for bare feet, shorts and sunshine. And when you head to the store, there is the most enormous box of whole watermelons that you've ever seen and then you know… you know… summer is truly here. If you liked my citrus coasters, you might just like what I've got for you today.. crochet watermelon coasters!

After so many years of washing dishes, your dishcloths need to be replaced, and what better way to do that than to make your own. Using the double crochet stitch, solids or variegated yarns you can create some fun dishcloths that are Not Your Grandma's Dishcloths. These are easy to crochet, which makes it easy to work up many of them in a short period of time. If you're in need of a last minute gift or bulk gifting, then this dishcloth will do the trick. Thermal Stitch Dish Scrubbies

These scrubbies are made using the thermal stitch and I love the results it makes. These dish scrubbies were made using the thermal stitch. There are two versions of the scrubbies. There is one pattern with a bumpy texture on one side and I did one with a bumpy texture on both sides. IF you are new to the thermal stitch, the blog post does link to a YouTube tutorial on how to do this stitch.

Corner To Corner Crochet Wattle Stitch

I've been playing with the Wattle stitch lately. The stitch is very easy and repetitive, but still has a unique and elegant look, to me, it looks like little flowers. I like taking interesting stitches and turn them into a corner to corner version. The C2C method is one of my favorite methods to work when I'm making blankets or dishcloths, it's very flexible, it allows you to decide the finished size of your work as you go. For this tutorial, I made a washcloth pattern, but you can make whatever you want with this technique (like blankets for ex.)!
