Todd's Blanket

Todd's Blanket is a free crochet pattern using a simple single crochet, paired with the very trendy, and popular jumbo weight yarn and US50/25mm hook! I made this blanket for my fiance for Valentine's Day gift. He has been wanting one of those arm knit blankets for about two years now, and I haven't made him one because of the crazy cost in yarn, and inconvenience in having to order online, but just before Valentine's Day, I found myself browsing around Michael's, and I came across jumbo weight yarn - woo!

Sunset Shawl

If you know someone in need of warmth, this Sunset Shawl is the perfect pattern to give as a gift. This beautiful crocheted shawl is an easy prayer shawl pattern to complete. It begins as a basic triangular shaped shawl, but turns into a batwing shaped piece as you add the border. The earth toned colors are perfect for any time of the year, but the light and lacy design makes this especially appropriate for spring and summer. It's a great item to wear over a tank top of sleeveless blouse.

Ice Cream Cozy

This Ice Cream Cozy is a fan favorite. You can finally enjoy your ice cream right out of the pint carton without having to transfer the ice cream, or even sorbet, into a bowl. Furthermore, it keeps your hands warm which is due to having used bulky and velvet yarn. It is super soft, functional and cozy. In addition, the Ice Cream cozy has a handle such that you can wrap it around your hands and the ice cream won't fall. And did I mention it is easy as it only uses single crochet stitches?

Ocean Granny Square Afghan

The Ocean Granny Square Afghan is made by crocheting solid granny squares in 3 different shades of blue and white. The following appliques are made: octopus, jelly fish, puffer fish, star fish, shark, dolphin, sea turtle, sea horse, sting ray, coral, tropical fish, clown fish, sea shell, whale, and crab. The appliques are sewn onto the surface of half of the granny squares and arranged in a checkered pattern. The afghan measures 30" x 36" making a baby sized blanket. However, the afghan may be made larger by making more squares.

Add some blue to your home with this dynamic Ocean Waves Chunky Crochet Blanket Pattern. The vibrant blue and white color scheme is reminiscent of watching ocean waves crash into the shore, and the chunky yarn texture will make the final project feel dense and cozy. Once completed, you can easily use this crochet throw to brighten up a bedroom or living room. If you know someone who loves the color blue, then you could also use this pattern to make them a gift they'll love. Desert Sunset Shawl

Colorful, light, and airy, the Desert Sunset Shawl reminds me of my trips to Sedona, Arizona. The red rock structures jutting out above the pine tree forest are beautiful and serene. This is wanted I wanted to portray in this shawl. I strived for a unique design by using a few simple stitches and alternate the stitch pattern in each row. This pattern is made with one skein of Lion Brand Mandala yarn. The colorway I used is called Centaur and it displays a beautiful combination of warm and neutral earth tones.

Crochet Thick Potholder

The Thermal Stitch is by far the best stitch (that I know of) you can use to crochet a thick potholder. It's quite dense and thick - it's basically double the thickness of a normal single crochet. It's perfect for a potholder or anything that needs that extra thickness. When trying this stitch for the first time, the trickiest part is to find the right stitch that you need to crochet into. The whole pattern consists of Thermal Single Crochets (single crochets that are worked into the back loops of current and previous rows together). That's what creates the thickness.
