From the Designer: I don't know about you but I may be, what you'd call, garment avoidant. Don't get me wrong, I love garments... I love sweaters, wraps, cardigans, kimonos. all of them. And I especially like ponchos. However, I almost never make them because they take FOREVER to finish... and being a plus sized girl, I can never be sure they're going to fit right. That's why I designed this fastest and easiest crochet poncho pattern ever.

This pattern works up in a matter of hours and can be easily adjusted for petite or plus sized needs. And, while I don't usually recommend that crochet sellers make garments (because they're just not cost effective), this design just might be the perfect addition to your craft fair inventory.

This gorgeous, delicate, crochet poncho is made by Johanna Lindahl. What's more, it's a super fun and fast to make project, that you can wear all year long (really!). It is worked in the rounds, top down. It's one size, however you can easily make some adjustments if you like too. The right hook for this one should be 5,5 mm.

The Big Mountain Poncho is a form flattering design that is made from the top down in a chevron design. The beginning rows are increased in an unusual method that provides continuity of the stitch pattern with a bottom edging that features an interesting textural component. The Big Mountain Poncho features an optional hood and comes sizes 2-12yo. This design can be made in a variety of color schemes or in all one color, it also looks great when made with variegated or long color change yarn.

This time of year is tough in Northern Ontario. The mornings are below freezing, but the afternoons warm up nicely, although there is still a definite chill to the wind. Perfect poncho weather!
