Soft And Sweet Textured Velvet Crochet Blanket

Afghans and Blankets

"This soft and sweet textured velvet crochet blanket feels like it should be used in an expensive hotel SPA. Use modern crochet stitches paired with Bernat Baby Velvet yarn to crochet this luxurious throw. Soft and Squishy Afghan The combination of front post double crochet and back post double crochet paired with this silky yarn create a soft and squishy Afghan. When my daughter ran her hands across this blanket, she snuggled her face against the yarn. She said the fluffy and soft blanket was the plushest feeling one yet. We think it is because of the added texture created by the crochet stitches and the fluffy yarn. Pair this bulky yarn with the right stitch and you have a winner. The pattern is a two-row repeat consisting of a row of single crochet, which ads a bit of stability to the entire project. The next row uses a special stitch pattern alternating the front post double crochet and back post double crochet stitches."

HBC Grey-Scale Inspired Blanket

Afghans and Blankets

The Hudson's Bay Company was founded in Canada in the 1600's and still endures today. With its iconic colours (and its more modern, turn of the new millennium, grey-scale) it's "stripe spotting" branding is known worldwide. For my blanket I opted to use the grey-scale as it fits nicely with the colour scheme I plan to use in my little boys room. The pattern would also look wonderful in the vintage HBC colours! Give it a go!!! If you make one please share a picture; I would love to see it!

Today am sharing the pattern for this Crochet Easy Shell Stitch Blanket. I just love the texture of this stitch. This pattern is very simple to work up. This stitch is made up of double crochets and single crochets worked up in a pattern. The Crochet shell stitch looks complicated, but its just a repeat of two rows and you end up with a beautiful crochet blanket. I have used variegated yarn for the blanket. I love how the color changes and you don't have to weave off the yarn ends in case of using different color yarn at end of every row.
