Today am sharing the pattern for this Crochet Easy Shell Stitch Blanket. I just love the texture of this stitch. This pattern is very simple to work up. This stitch is made up of double crochets and single crochets worked up in a pattern. The Crochet shell stitch looks complicated, but its just a repeat of two rows and you end up with a beautiful crochet blanket. I have used variegated yarn for the blanket. I love how the color changes and you don't have to weave off the yarn ends in case of using different color yarn at end of every row. Each April, the Craft Yarn Council in conjunction with Warm Up America! invites you to Stitch Away Stress. Crochet, as you know, is such a wonderfully soothing activity. Lemons have become the emblem for this promotion because the first pattern designed for Stitch Away Stress was a cute lemon stress ball! Textured Ombre Crochet Blanket
This Textured Ombre Crochet Blanket will be a beautiful addition to the decor at the farmhouse. If you can double crochet, you can create this lovely afghan. Are you looking for the perfect crochet blanket pattern? This is one of those relaxing patterns that is easy to crochet with gorgeous results. The colors of this ombre yarn are long. Therefore, this yarn lends itself to crocheting a large blanket like this one. I just love the hues of changing colors without the hassle of having to weave in tons of yarn ends. This was a very nice yarn to work with. This crochet pattern uses double crochet to achieve this beautiful textured look. Repeat rows 2-16 throughout. However, due to the turning at the end of each row, some of the row directions are slightly different. That way, the texture will stay on the correct side of the afghan.
Timeless Lacy Shell Crochet Blanket
This timeless lacy shell crochet blanket is simple but has an elegant touch. Alternating the colored yarn with white really helps make this throw lovely. I must admit, this is a pattern I fell in love with so much that I made two right away. This pattern size is wonderful for a small throw or blanket. However, it would be an heirloom crochet project as a larger afghan. The pattern is a repeat of rows 2-5. It is ideal to end with the stitch pattern on row 3 as this will provide a nice foundation to even out the work on the next row. There are just a few special stitches; the v-stitch, and the shell stitch. The edge consists of the single crochet and double crochet. In total, just a but shy of five skeins were used for this baby blanket.
Tried and True Beginner Blanket
I have been teaching beginners (read: novice/first time crocheters) to crochet for a couple of years. My favorite projects are any that include a super bulky yarn and a 15 mm hook. Why? These projects can be started and finished in one class and the beginner can leave with a hat on their head (or a cowl around their neck). I designed this blanket with the true beginner in mind. Maybe you took a class, or a friend taught you the single crochet. You’ve made a stack of hats, but you want more! This is the project for you. You will learn the four basic stitches and how to work in rows (working in rows is a beginner skill, but I don't like teaching it for a first time crocheter). I have added notes here and there to help guide you and give you an understanding on the basics of pattern-reading. I have also included a full photo tutorial for each stitch to help you along your way.
