A temperature blanket is typically one where the placement of the colors is determined by the temperature of a certain location.

For this Split Square Temperature Blanket, both the high and low temperature are tracked. Each square represents a month with each round representing a day.

Chunky Continuous Granny Afghan

Granny squares are very easy to learn, so this is a great pattern for a beginner. It starts with a basic granny square and just keeps adding round after round. You can choose any color combination and can make your square as big as you like. I chain 2 at each corner, instead of chaining one to prevent rounded corners. I also turn with each round to prevent my square from leaning. Includes written instructions and video tutorial. I did include approximate numbers of rounds below for an average sized baby blanked, lapghan, and small afghan

Modern Heirloom Baby Afghan

This is one of my favorite stitch patterns to use and it makes such a beautiful gift for an expecting mother. Recently, I learned how to make the linen stitch, which is also called the moss stitch, granite stitch, and the woven stitch. Once you learn the techniques, the crochet projects are endless. Today, though, we will be making the modern heirloom baby afghan and it is super easy. This baby afghan has a modern look to it, but at the same time, is a beautiful blanket to pass on as an heirloom-if it lasts that long. There is a row-by-row color list, as well as, a video tutorial of how to complete the stitch. Learn how to crochet over the end stitches for a finished look. Very easy to achieve.
