The Scrappy Rug

This circular rug from scraps is the perfect stash buster. Moreover, since it's made of strands bound together, it's easy to expand as needed, just add more scraps. Therefore, the size is also quite arbitrary, and you can make it however you wish.

So, this circular rug from scraps is a trip down hippy-trippy lane. Not only can it be a rug, but also a simple trivet - it only depends on how many yarns scraps you have.

Granny's Scrappy Placemat

My Granny’s series features one round granny squares. This makes it really great for using up those tiny bits of yarn in your stash. If you don't need a placemat, use it as a larger doily. You'll need 282 yards of worsted weight yarn. As a placemat, I recommend cotton since it's more durable, but as a doily, acrylic works too. I used Lily Sugar n Cream for my placemat. Alternatively, I recommend WeCrochet Dishie (cotton) or Red Heart Super Saver (acrylic). I have included instructions to make a variety of sizes depending on your preference. This placemat took me about 8.25 hours to complete.

Perfect for managing your desk clutter AND using up some of that leftover medium weight yarn! Worked with 2 strands of medium weight yarn held together this lovely textured container can be worked up in about one hour. If you would like to use some stashed bulky weight yarn 5 you can easily substitute it instead of the 2 strands of medium weight yarn. Have fun and show me your finished baskets please! Rhondda
