Indeed, none of us like to see waste. So, here is an crochet beanie inspired by an eponymous sweater. To summarize, this is a quick and fun pattern that uses scraps of yarns to make a beautiful new thing.
The original pattern and the photos are available on doradoes.co.uk blog:
Just The Scraps Hat
"My go to simple crochet hat pattern. I love to use my scraps for this to make striped beanies. The stiches used are a magic circle, double crochet, and front and back post double crochet. (US terminology) Hat is super quick to make. Uses worsted weight yarn. Hook sizes are US H or I, depending on desird hat size, adult medium or large sizes both available with this pattern. Great stash buster and charity project."

Pebble Hat crochet
"The Pebble Hat uses textured stitches - alternating double crochet and linked double crochet - to create a bumpy fabric that reminds me of pebbles (hence the name!). The Adult Large (23") size is available for free on my blog. I've included video tutorials showing the Pebble Stitch and the joining method used for this hat. I've also linked to a video tutorial for linked double crochet for those new to that stitch. Additional sizes are available for purchase. This design uses worsted weight yarn and a size H crochet hook."
