"This is an adult hat that hat a bumpy texture because of alternating single crochet and triple crochet. The thing to keep in mind about this hat is that you have to turn every round. There is a row of single crochet worked on the right side of the hat and the alternating single and triple crochet is worked on the wrong side to give it the bumpy texture. I made this hat with Caron Simply Soft and a size H hook, but you can use a similar weight yarn (size 4)."

Caron cupcakes crochet hat
Cooler temperatures are here you can quickly whip up an adorable Caron cupcakes crochet hat for your kid in one afternoon. One skein of yarn is all you will need! Last week, the kids were home from school and I thought I would take a break from my afghan project and crochet their hats quickly. For this Caron cupcakes crochet hat I used a self striping yarn, these yarns are so popular these days and I was excited to play with mine.
Mountain Trail Hat
"This hat uses a unique stitch combination to create a woven appearance. Hat is worked side-to-side in rows to make a rectangle which is then folded together, seamed and top of hat sewn together. Hat is worked by alternating colors from two yarn cakes or by working both ends of the same yarn cake, switching colors every second row. Perfect pairing with self-striping yarn but could also be made in a single color or with alternating two solid colors. No worries about a ton of ends to weave in at the end with the color changes as yarn is dropped and then pulled back into work at the end. Yarn floats are covered in the seaming process! Instructions included for size Adult Small, Medium and Large but could easily be adjusted to any size."

"In this tutorial, I'll be teaching you the braid stitch. You have the option of using one or two colors. Warning, if are using two colors, your secondary color may show through, I personally like that. The materials that will be using today are a 5 mm crochet hook and Caron Simply Soft which is a worsted weight yarn one in the color Iceland blue and bone. I chose Caron Simply Soft because it works perfectly with this stitch. All #4 worsted weight yarns are not the same. The stitches lay flatter with a light worsted weight yarn. With heavier #4 worsted weight yarn such as red heart Super Saver, the stitches came out bulkier. The choice is yours. Material #4 Worsted Weight Yarn - Caron Simply Soft -1 or 2 colors (I used blue and tan) 5 mm Hook Embroidery Needle for Sewing"
Pebble Hat crochet
"The Pebble Hat uses textured stitches - alternating double crochet and linked double crochet - to create a bumpy fabric that reminds me of pebbles (hence the name!). The Adult Large (23") size is available for free on my blog. I've included video tutorials showing the Pebble Stitch and the joining method used for this hat. The crochet ribbing is worked as part of the stitch pattern not added on later!
