The Iris stitch is another one of my favorite stitches. It has a flower-like look, it creates a “Holey” fabric and still has more of a modern look. It's a great stitch to use in blankets or as a border. The stitch consists of dc’s and chain which makes it very easy and is what makes it also works up really fast, which is a bonus! When you work a blanket from the middle out, it gives you more freedom to decide the blanket’s size as you go."

TagsIris Stitch In A Rectangle
"The Iris stitch is another one of my favorite stitches. It has a flower-like look, it creates a “Holey” fabric and still has more of a modern look. It's a great stitch to use in blankets or as a border. After designing the Iris stitch in a square, many have asked me if there's also a way to make this stitch in a rectangle, so I had to make another tutorial! This pattern enables you to decide the dimensions of the rectangle by changing the number of the initial chains. "
Flower Power Granny Square
I'm celebrating the granny square day with my crochet flower granny square! Granny Square Day is an international online celebration of this iconic make on Instagram. I have designed a crochet flower granny square especially for this day! It consists of a sweet flower motif in the middle. The subsequent rounds are then worked to the back of the flower making it pop out and 3D. Lastly, it has a couple of rounds of lacy crochet stitches to finish it off.
Primrose and Proper Ruffled Granny Square Pattern
This simple, but beautiful crochet granny square pattern takes the Primrose and Proper stitch pattern you know so well and re-imagines it in a completely new way. A delicate ruffle frames the center of the square giving it plenty of romantic charm. This square would make a great addition to any sampler afghan, or it can be used as a stand-alone square if you prefer. There is a matching bonus square at the bottom of the post.

Windows Border
The Windows Border is an easy two round pattern that can work with just about any pattern, but it is particularly suited when you're bordering squares or blocks that have been joined by one of the loopy methods, where chain loops are made all the way around the square. This would include the Tight Braid Join, Scallop Join, Flat Braid Join, and more! And I think it looks like little windows with pretty curtains - but the modern, graphic style will work with tons of patterns! For the hook and yarn, use whatever you've been using for the rest of your project.
Little Love Linked Granny Square
Introducing the ‘Little Love’ square pattern; Dora’s take on the classic solid granny square! Worked using linked crochet stitches, this is a modern twist which creates a solid contemporary fabric. Just as flexible as a traditional granny square you can use this motif to make blankets, bags, hats, ponchos, afghans, pillows, sweaters and so much more! The pattern includes written instructions, a step by step photo guide and a video tutorial (for left and right handers!). It explains the linked double crochet stitch and offers an extra tutorial for that too!"
Victorian Romance Square
Practice the popcorn stitch with this quick crochet granny square pattern!
From the blogger:"During my square designing kick, I first made the Native Sun Square, which had great texture. It was followed by the Mingle Square and the Primrose Square, which are equally as beautiful, but lacking the textures. So, I knew I had to make another that just 'popped.' The design of this 6-inch square reminds me of Victorian-era decor. Plus, the pop stitches look like hearts! This square would be great for many projects, but I definitely like it for an afghan."
