Beautiful Black And White Granny Square Blanket
This beautiful black and white granny square afghan is easy to crochet. It was made for my daughter. I made her a baby afghan many years ago. This will be the second afghan that I made for her. The granny square is one of the most easy and versatile crochet patterns around. It can be used to make crochet blankets, scarves, bags, tops, cardigans and a myriad of easy crochet patterns. You can add color and style to your wardrobe and home alike when you learn to crochet a granny square. This beautiful black and white granny square afghan is easy to crochet. This blanket consists of 5 different black and white designs. Making 4 of each square. When I started making this blanket, there was no end plan in mind. Once I got the hang of crocheting a granny square, I just started pairing the black and white in different styles. I love how they turned out.
Blooming Granny Square Baby Afghan
Several years ago I hosted a crochet-along for a stitch sampler blanket and one of the squares was the Blooming Granny Square. In the CAL we did small squares as the learning swatch size. Well, one of my contactors loved the look of the small blooming granny square so she made several, seamed them together then added the same border we used for the stitch sampler blanket to her new blanket and voila! The minute I saw it I knew I needed to purchase the sample and publish it as an option for that very cute square. So, let's say thank you to Jennifer Purtee for her vision and enjoy this fun pattern. Tulip Stitch Afghan Square
This lovely Tulip Stitch Afghan Square is available as a free crochet pattern in 5 different sizes. A photo tutorial is also available to show you how to crochet this stitch pattern. This version of the Tulip Stitch pattern is worked in double crochet stitches, rather than single crochet stitches. The pattern works up quickly and creates a pretty finished square. This will also work for blankets and other items. If you'd like to make a pretty and feminine hat with this stitch, I have also created a free pattern in 11 sizes using the Tulip Stitch. It is linked in the post and a video tutorial is also available. The hat is worked in rounds but the video will demonstrate how the Tulips are created using a popcorn stitch - if you prefer videos. Framed Textures Crochet Afghan
The more texture crochet blankets have, the better, don't you think? Like for instance this amazing afghan in the pictures below. It's full of colors and fun bobbles (however feel free to go for just one color if you prefer it that way. It's great great for gifting or making something special for yourself.
Basic C2c Chunky Afghan
"This crochet pattern is for a basic, chunky, beautifully textured corner to corner afghan. Worked in two strands of worsted weight yarn (or one strand of chunky weight yarn), this cozy afghan works up fairly quickly. My afghan is worked in a solid color, but you could use some Caron Cakes yarn (or similar) for an easy, colorful afghan, or change colors as you see fit. For my blanket, I used about 8.33 (1/3) Skeins of Hobby Lobby's I Love This Yarn in the Ivory colorway (two strands held together). In it's place, you could use one strand of chunky/bulky (#5) yarn. Take a gauge. If you don't mind a slight difference in measurements, gauge isn't essential. You could even go up a hook size, and use super bulky yarn for a larger blanket. This afghan took me just over 11 hours to work up."
