Mingle Square

Mingle Square

This splendid little crochet granny square is a perfect pattern to use in your next quilt or granny square afghan project!

From the blogger:"Here's another great new 6" granny square design! I just love granny squares and I knew I needed to make a few of my own. The Mingle Square measures 6" when using an H hook. This square would be great for shawls or lacy afghans! It's a simple, yet fun square; the dcs mingle nicely with clusters! This pattern calls for worsted weight yarn in any fiber of your choice! However, this could be worked up in any weight to change the finished measurement."

Beach Ball Square

Jump into summery fun with this Beach Ball Square! Vibrant colors and a raised edge make the beach ball really pop on a neutral, sandy background. Finished off with a fast and colorful border, this square is sure to add a little sunshine to your project. For another fun idea, some people have noticed that if you make the circle in 2 colors instead of three, it can look like a radiation symbol instead of a beach ball!

Cabin on the Beach Afghan Square

"This easy crochet afghan pattern pays homage to the traditional Log Cabin quilt squares with a beachy crochet version! You can make this pattern into afghan blocks for a fun pieced afghan, or simply continue on for a fun continuous blanket pattern. This makes an excellent crochet stash buster- as you'll use just about 100 yards of each color for the 12" crochet afghan square blocks. Make it into a true scrap blanket, or use the colors of your choice for a cohesive look."

Sugar Sand Afghan Block

"This easy crochet afghan block uses a simple crochet texture stitch to create the effect of little seashells nestled in the sugar sand of my favorite beach. Perfect for adding just a bit of texture to an afghan! You can use this block on its own, or combine it with other blocks for a fun quilted look. You'll need less than a skein of worsted weight yarn for this pattern. It creates a beautifully textured 12" crochet afghan block, perfect for making crocheted afghans of any size, and in any color."

Crossed Afghan Square

From the blogger: "This square may be labeled intermediate due to the post stitches, but it's actually pretty easy to crochet! The varying stitch heights create a fun color pattern, while the post stitches give the overall square some texture. Try playing with different colors or even making the whole thing in one color. Just have fun with it. Once you finish the stitches, cut the yarn and weave in all ends. The finished piece after blocking should measure to be a 12” square. Enjoy!
