Cake Yarn Shawl

A beginner-friendly pattern for an asymmetric shawl using just one ball of cake yarn in a DK weight/Light Worsted weight. The shawl is a boomerang shape that is perfect for wrapping around your shoulders, and makes a warm cosy scarf against winter winds. The pattern is an easy make using basic stitches only. Once you have the first few rows worked up, it is a simple 2-row repeat. You can adjust the pattern easily by making more or fewer rows, to make the size you want. Measurements Shawl measures 70 in 178cm in longest length x 56 in 102cm x 31 in 79cm after blocking

Omna Shawl

Cosy, squishy and huge, this free pattern for a crochet shawl makes a lovely crochet blanket scarf to add style to your winter outfits. Wear it as a wrap around your shoulders, or as a cosy scarf to drape around your neck to keep those cold winds at bay. Measurements: 70in (178cm) length x 18in (46cm) wide - without fringing The pattern is an easy design. The first few rows require concentration, but I have included step by step photos to help the process. I used 2 balls of King Cole Curiosity yarn to make my shawl, but any DK weight yarn would work as well. Gradient cake yarns makes a gorgeous wrap, and only a few threads to weave in! I included the multiples for the pattern, so you can make your shawl any width you choose.

Sunset Boomerang Scarf

The Sunset Boomerang Scarf is not only one of the easiest scarves you will ever create, but it also super stylish, unique and cozy but lacy at the same time. Being great for a beginner, the pattern has mostly double crochets and chains and comes with a detailed video tutorial. Crocheting a scarf can be so repetitive, but this one is special as it increases in stitches per row making it look like a boomerang. This pattern also uses the wonderful Caron Cotton Cakes.

Hot Chili Shawl

Hot Chili is a beginner-friendly crochet shawl using only basic stitches that forms an asymmetric triangle. Choose one beautiful skein of yarn, start this relaxing easy project and finish in a weekend! The sample uses Fingering Weight yarn in the most stunning red and pink colourway. The pattern would also work well with DK or Worsted weight yarn. I suggest using a larger than recommended hook size to give your shawl a loose drape and the stitches will open out beautifully after blocking. The decreases on one side of the shawl form ‘teeth’ which is a striking feature of the design. Measurements Shawl pictured measures 66in 168cm on the longest length at the top, 50in 127cm along the bottom and 32in 81cm on the shortest side after blocking The pattern is in US Crochet Terms
