This dancing baubles rectangular shawl poncho is an easy rectangular crochet pattern that is worked up in a lightweight yarn. It is perfect for the summer and transitional weather too. Something Special and Unique in Rectangle Shawls While this shawl can be draped over your shoulders and worn as a poncho, you can also bunch this up for a cozy winter scarf if you like. This crochet pattern may look a bit complicated at first glance; however, it uses just a few basic stitches. There are ten rows of single crochet and one row of puff stitches followed by a chain stitch. The rows of puff stitches provide a little texture and eye appeal.

Materials Serendipidye Dyeworks Kings Mountain O’Sparkle DK yarn (75% superwash Merino wool/20% nylon/5% stellina, 3.5 oz/100 g, 230 yd/210 m) - 3 skeins in Tink, or approximately 620 yd/567 m in any light weight yarn. US Size H-8/5 mm crochet hook, or any size needed to obtain correct gauge. Yarn needle. Gauge Exact gauge is not critical for this project. Use a crochet hook larger than you would for this weight of yarn to achieve a drape that you prefer.

Materials Miss Babs Yet yarn (65% Merino wool/35% Tussah silk, 2.3 oz/65 g, 400 yd/365 m) - 2 skeins in Moulin Rose, or approximately 445 yd (407 m) in any super fine weight yarn. This one-skein crochet shawl pattern uses self-striping yarn to make colorwork easy. This rectangular shawl can also be worn as a scarf in transitional weather. Since it's a one-skein crochet shawl pattern, you won't have many ends to weave in which means you can wear this project as soon as it's finished. This is an intermediate level pattern, but there are only two rows to repeat. Once you get the stitch pattern down, you will find it a relatively mindless and straightforward crochet project.
