Hot Pad and Dish Scrubby With Printable Gift Tag

This is a traditional hot pad, honestly, the best ones I have ever used. This is not my design, but a common way to crochet hot pads that my Great Grandmother taught me and I want to share it with you. These are my most requested crochet items from my family! I love to gift them for any occassion, but I like to add a dish scrubby because we always need more. I wanted to help you enjoy making these as gifts this year as well so I created a cute printable gift tag you are welcome to use!

Magic Coaster

This cute coaster works up like magic! Using the magic potholder technique, you'll crochet a double layered coaster that magically shapes itself into a square using just one continuous round. The thick cotton yarn is very absorbent, and durable, making it perfect for a coaster. These little crochet coasters are just the thing for quick gifts for teachers, Valentines, or housewarming trinkets, because they're both practical and customizable to any tastes! Once you make one, you'll be hooked- pun intended.

Easy Floral Coasters

This floral motif has become one of my favorites over the years because it is so versatile, but for this Spring, I wanted to create a set of simple, pretty, cheery little coasters. They are made with simple stitches, making this a good beginner project. They work up quickly, which make them excellent for last minute gifts or craft fair makes. They are also perfect for scrap yarn. And while they're listed as coasters, you could work them in any weight yarn with respective hook, and use them for all kinds of things

One Cup At A Time Coaster

The One Cup at a Time Coaster pattern works up really quick, uses a fun stitch combination and your finished project is useful to have around. The coasters can be added to a gift, it's that handmade touch everyone loves to receive. The pattern uses a sports weight (#2) yarn and a G (4.25 mm) crochet hook. However, if you have a different yarn weight around, go ahead and give that a try as well. You finished coaster may come out bigger, or thicker, but it will still work.

Cat Potholder

It happened. I was minding my own business… and I saw it. Cat potholders! But the potholders I saw had plastic eyes and a nose and was for decoration only, because, hello, plastic will melt! What?! Who does that?! If I'm making a potholder, you can bet you can actually use it to take a hot pot out of an oven! Or display it if you want. And speaking of melting, here's a little tip… if you use acrylic yarn, it probably WILL melt. So this potholder is made out of cotton yarn and is double thick to help protect your hands from the heat.

Quilter's Dish Scrubby

Based on a quilter's block pattern, create a colorful dish scrubby that combines cotton and textured yarn for a multi purpose cleaning. Each dish scrubby consists of 4 motifs that are joined together to create a quilt-like block pattern. The four motifs are fun to rearrange to create a multiple of block patterns. Step by step YouTube video available. Dish cloth is 5 3/4” x 5 3/4” and calls for one skein of Red Heart Scrubby and Red Heart Scrubby Smoothie yarn.
