Granny Ripple Stitch

Learn to crochet the Granny Ripple Stitch. This pattern is great for making blankets, afghans, scarfs, table runners, etc. It uses basic stitches such as double crochet, and chains. This blog post will give you the written instructions as well as provide a link for my free YouTube video tutorial for those who prefer to watch video or are visual learners. Rainbow Stripe Crochet Blanket

Create a rainbow afghan with wide stripes of colour - quick to crochet and a great 'next step' project for a beginner as they get more practice. Rather than having to join squares, this pattern is worked row by row. This pattern will work with any yarn and could easily be adapted to any colour scheme. You could also adjust the length of the rows to make it as a baby blanket in pastel rainbow colours instead.

Cloud 9 Blanket

The Cloud 9 Blanket is the most snuggly thing, and I wish I made it bigger so that I could use it! The good news is that the size is super easily adjustable, and you will be able to make it any size you'd like. This blanket is made with Loops and Threads Kai and the border is Bernat Pipsqueak. You will need a 5.0mm and 7.0mm crochet hook to make this super simple project!

Sofie's Throw

Sofie's Throw

My sister asked me to make her a crochet blanket with the Bernat Blanket yarn. Here is the super plush crochet blanket pattern I came up, fittingly called the Sofie Throw!. The yarn is 100% polyester so it's easy to wash and dry in the machine, and it's a #6 super bulky yarn. It's super thick and plush so with a big hook, this works up very quickly. There are so many colors to choose from.

Supernova Square

Explore the shifting, layered textures of the Supernova Square. A starburst at the center sets this crochet afghan block in motion, radiating outwards into puffs, shells, ridges and more. With such varied textures, this blanket square works equally well with one color or many! The full square is 12 inches across. If you would like a smaller and more solid square, you can do that too, by working just the center portion without the shell stitch border!

For the main color you'll need around 360 yards, and for each contrasting color you'll need around 270 yards. The throw is approximately 58″ x 42″, but the pattern comes with the multiples used to create a blanket in any size you prefer. This pattern is rated Easy in pattern difficulty. Rainbow Ruffle Blanket

Rainbow Ruffle Blanket

The Rainbow Ruffle blanket is super warm, soft, cuddly, and so easy to make! The pattern is unbelievably simple; the entire blanket is crocheted in double crochet. The ruffle is added at the end, in front loops between two rows of different colors. The tutorial is written in standard US crochet terms, but if you're from the UK, you can easily follow the tutorial, just make treble crochet instead of double crochet (standing tr crochet instead of standing dc), and that's it! The other 2 stitches are the same (chain stitch and slip stitch). Yes, it's that simple!
