Big Bloom Blanket

The Big Bloom Blanket is cozy, casual, and creates a simple, modern floral afghan with an easy to memorize repeat! And it's a free crochet pattern featuring Caron Simply Soft, on Moogly! The Big Bloom Blanket features a stitch pattern that I used on some holiday patterns in the past - and it's a reader request! However, I've updated it this round, making it even easier to crochet, and adding more texture, with fewer color changes. This makes this pattern a great one to relax with, and gives it a great floral look! While I designed the Big Bloom Blanket to use just 2 skeins each of 3 colors of Caron Simply Soft, this pattern can keep growing as long as you keep crocheting! It's also a great scrapghan pattern - be sure to read the Notes in the pattern for more sizing info!

Crochet Fireside Throw Blanket

This crochet fireside throw blanket will look so beautiful this fall. The colors remind me of an autumn sunset or a warm fire burning in the fireplace. I love to use crochet items that are useful to help bring the colors of the season into my home decor. Have you ever stood in the yarn store or in your yarn stash and let your yarn tell you what your next project will be? I do that often. Sometimes, I will have a project that I plan on doing; look through my yarn stash, and end up making something completely different. Seems crazy, right? At times, when digging through the yarn, a color combination will jump out at me and gives me inspiration. This blanket is made using the block stitch that has been slightly modified. In the past, when I have crocheted the block stitch, alternating the yarn colors every other row left a ton of yarn ends to be weaved in. Therefore, while I love the look of the block stitch, the sewing in of the yarn ends made me veer away from this beautiful stitch. Carry the Yarn up the Side of the Blanket! Yup, no more weaving in tons of yarn with each color change. It was not easy to figure out.

Rorschach Square

The Rorschach Square is a fun design that got its name from the feature of Palm Trees…Or a snowflake…Or a water fountain…Or Angels…what do YOU see? Just like the Rorschach test, the design changes with the person. This is a 6 inch square when worked up in Worsted weight yarn, but it can be worked up in any weight yarn to change its size. I think shrinking it down and making earrings could be so fun!

This beautiful black and white granny square afghan is easy to crochet. This blanket consists 5 different black and white designs. Making 4 of each square. Have fun laying them out to create a unique look. Add a double crochet border to each granny square, then join the squares. This was my second granny square blanket I had ever made. Diagonal Dragonflies Throw

I received a special request to turn the popular dragonfly stitch into a corner-to-corner blanket. I thought it would be a simple task, but getting the spacing right turned out to be quite a challenge. It was a fun challenge though, and I'm so pleased with the final result!
