Granny Ripple Stitch

Learn to crochet the Granny Ripple Stitch. This pattern is great for making blankets, afghans, scarfs, table runners, etc. It uses basic stitches such as double crochet, and chains. This blog post will give you the written instructions as well as provide a link for my free YouTube video tutorial for those who prefer to watch video or are visual learners. Crochet a gauge swatch to determine how many pattern repeats you need for your project. Once you have the number of stitches per repeat you can calculate the total needed for your project. Enjoy.

Supernova Square

Explore the shifting, layered textures of the Supernova Square. A starburst at the center sets this crochet afghan block in motion, radiating outwards into puffs, shells, ridges and more. With such varied textures, this blanket square works equally well with one color or many! The full square is 12 inches across. If you would like a smaller and more solid square, you can do that too, by working just the center portion without the shell stitch border!

The scalloped edging and overall design of this seashell-inspired square will definitely remind you of those summer days spent at the beach. This Seashell Granny Square Pattern can be used to create a crocheted afghan or can be doubled up and used as a trivet. Soft blue and green tones would also make this an ideal choice for a baby blanket for either a baby boy or girl. It's an intermediate crochet pattern to work up using worsted weight yarn. This is a must-make crochet pattern if you have a beach house or live near the ocean.

Succulent Square

This pattern is for a blanket square in your choice of 2 sizes: 9” or 12”. This versatile pattern can also be used as a wall hanging or as a pillow front. Colors are referred to as A, B, and C. Color changes can be made by fastening off or carrying the yarn. For best results, I recommend washing finished square according to yarn package directions and blocking to the appropriate size. Ice Flower Square

Small (5 inch) granny square using a simple technique to gain a raised petal effect. Worked in caron simply soft and 5 mm crochet hook, you can quickly crochet several squares to make a cozy blanket. The raised/puffed petals and leaves give the square a lovely tactile effect and the green colour means that these squares are perfect for spring afghan after all the heavy colours of winter. I gave the square the name ice flower because it reminds me of the brave young flowers shooting up at this time of year.
