The Sweet Shoppe Easy Crochet Asymmetrical Shawl is the perfect project for those of you who are looking for something a little bit different. The color possibilities are endless. The colors of this shawl remind me of stepping into a sweet shoppe. Imagine stepping into an old-fashioned candy store. I can just see macarons stacked on tiered trays, cookies frosted with pastel colors, chocolate covered strawberries, jars of colored taffy, large rainbow swirl lollipops pops on sticks, and fancy pastries decorated with fillings and frostings.
There is very little that's square about this unique square! It's made in 4 separate, half-circle pieces that are then joined with an edging and sewn together in the middle. It looks complicated, but the actual crochet is very easy. This square is shown here in 3 colors, but can be made all in 1 color, or in as many as 5 or even 6.

How cute is this Frog Backpack? I made this Toddler-sized - 8 1/2” x 11” x 2”. Perfect size for toddlers/preschoolers. I used double-stranded #4 worsted weight yarn to make it sturdy. The 'belly' portion is a front pocket. With a zipper top, this makes a great bag for young kids to tote their stuff to preschool, to play, to grandma's house, etc. Plus, this project was completed in one evening. Simple, cute, and efficient!
The May Flowers Shawl is made up of granny squares with puff stitch flowers in the center. You can choose any colors you wish for your garden. This pattern is very easy. It's also thick and oh so warm, which is perfect for those unpredictable Spring temperatures! The only stitches you need to know are the single crochet, double crochet and the puff stitch. The border is made up of the moss stitch, which is single crochets and chains. This pattern can be altered to fit Youth through 5XL. A table provides the number of squares needed for each size.
This free crochet pattern comes in graph form. There are no written instructions. The design features an adorable crab playing happily at the beach. If you're unfamiliar with crochet a graph you can find two articles within this blog post that go into more details about three different ways that a graph can be crocheted- HDC, Bobble, and c2c. If using the c2c method this graph will work up to a pretty good sized medium or throw sized blanket.
The Moogly uppercase, lowercase, numbers, the Greek alphabet, and punctuation have been a big hit, so the next step you asked for was currency symbols! The dollar sign was already available, but of course there are other major currencies out there, so I picked the top 3 (and included the dollar sign instructions here for your convenience!). These are excellent appliques, and great in classrooms too. I hope you enjoy the Moogly Crochet Currency Set!"
Bernat Harvest Colors allow you to make this free crochet bag pattern. The fall season is great for wearing dark, bold colors like this tote. It's an easy crochet pattern you'll love crocheting. It's just the right size for everyday errands around town, grabbing a bite to eat, or window shopping at the mall. Straight bamboo handles are added, which gives this free crochet bag pattern the perfect finishing touch.
