Super Chunky Striped Shay Afghan Crochet pattern

The Super Chunky Striped Shay Afghan is an easy crochet afghan pattern worked in simple single crochet stitches and fun color block stripes. 11 sizes included, and super chunky yarn means it'll work up fairly quickly. You'll need some super bulky yarn. I used Bernat Blanket Yarn in Smokey Green and Dark Gray, but you could also try holding 2-3 strands of worsted weight yarn together with the same crochet hook size. The newborn size blanket took me just under 4 hours to work up.

Lotus In Bloom 12" Afghan Square crochet pattern

"The Lotus in Bloom 12" Afghan Square uses post stitches to create an eye-catching and pleasing design. The texture created is soft and comforting, too. While the square is beautiful in just two colors, the color possibilities are endless when crocheting your very own Lotus in Bloom 12" Afghan Square. You can make any sized blanket with as many or as little squares as you desire. You can even get creative and make a small throw pillow using the square.

Astrology Afghan Crochet pattern

"The Astrology Afghan is made up of 12 - 15" squares, each featuring a different glyph from the 12 zodiac signs (Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces). The fun thing about the squares is that they can be used for making other projects as well. For instance, I have extra squares, so I'll be using one of them to make a tote bag and the others to make a pillows. "

The Traveling Crochet Afghan Square is the number 11 square in the Traveling Crochet Afghan Project. It is made using the Tunisian Crochet technique. The Traveling Afghan Crochet Square features a bold cable down the center for depth and a 3D type of effect. The cable is achieved using the Tunisian Crochet. Bulky Yarn Crochet Afghan

"Bulky yarn can be a dream to crochet with as well as make the most beautiful textured pieces. I made the 8 Point Star Afghan last year to use as a lapghan or throw but as the days grew colder, I wished I had a warmer lapghan to keep out the cold so I thought Bulky yarn would be perfect for this. I really hope you like this design. HOOK: 5 mm hook or size H hook for the US I used a 6 mm Hook \ I Hook to make beginning SCFS's YARN: I used 13 skeins of Bulky Yarn in total Each skein is 100 grams \ 110 Meters."

Tunisian Cross Stitch Afghan Block

"I simply love when you can use a simple crochet stitch and put a twist on it. This creates a beautiful new stitch that looks so much different by just changing a small thing. That is exactly what the Tunisian crochet cross stitch is. Simply put, you work two Tunisian simple stitches but crossed over. It is a super simple technique suitable for beginners. I have used this beautifully textured stitch for a simple afghan block. It would look lovely as part of a Tunisian stitch sampler blanket or cushion cover. You can also make this square with a 100% cotton yarn and use it as a washcloth or a facecloth."

Madison Afghan Square

"This is Madison. Madison is a 12-inch Afghan Square that is crocheted using a dropped double crochet technique. This pattern is easy and each row is worked in a single color of yarn. You only need to know how to crochet single crochet (sc), double crochet (dc), chain stitches (ch) and slip stitches (sl st) to make this square. I have provided round by round photos and a video tutorial is also available. This afghan square is crocheted with Red Heart with Love Solids and a 6 mm (J) hook. Madison is one of the 2019 Moogly CAL squares."

Trudie Afghan

"The Trudie Afghan is made for snuggling! Constructed with two tone solid granny squares and triangles, this cozy piece looks bold in any room and puts a modern spin on the traditional granny square afghan. For this project I decided to use Lion Brand Basic Stitch. This premium acrylic yarn is perfect for blankets. It's worsted weight, machine washable (and dryable!) and available in 18 colors. Each skein is 219 yards. For the Trudie Afghan you will need 10 balls of you main color and 5 of your contrast color. I used Cream as the main and Tourmaline for my contrast."

Super Chunky Gia Afghan

"I originally designed this pattern back in 2014 and it only included one baby size, but in it's recent update (2020), it has received a new name - Gia, which represents one of my series featuring designs made with one large continous granny square, and six more sizes including two photography blanket sizes perfect for layering, newborn, toddler, child, lapghan and throw. The newborn blanket size took me just over two hours 15 minutes to work up, so that's definitely a plus working with the super chunky yarn."
