Going Granny Neck Warmer

"A great alternative to a scarf, or cowl this winter is my Going Granny Neck Warmer. This simple granny stitch neck warmer is lightweight and it fits nicely around the neck. It can be tucked under the collar of your winter coat. There is not a lot of extra material to deal with as it is designed to keep some of the chill off the neck, without being bulky. If you are looking for a more solid version, the Easy Crochet Neck Warmer Pattern (free) features a double crochet rib stitch and does not have the gaps between the stitches."

Mock Granny Stripe Blanket

This is a mock granny stitch afghan designed with Bernat Blanket yarn. You do not fasten off after every color change and will only have around 3 tails to weave in at the end. The stitch pattern was adjusted to work with the thickness of this yarn and to avoid leaving big holes. The result is a warm and squishy blanket that will keep your baby warm and snuggly. You can combine any 3 colors of your choice to make a blanket for a baby boy or a baby girl.

Blooming Granny Square Baby Afghan

Several years ago I hosted a crochet-along for a stitch sampler blanket and one of the squares was the Blooming Granny Square. In the CAL we did small squares as the learning swatch size. Well, one of my contactors loved the look of the small blooming granny square so she made several, seamed them together then added the same border we used for the stitch sampler blanket to her new blanket and voila! The minute I saw it I knew I needed to purchase the sample and publish it as an option for that very cute square. So, let's say thank you to Jennifer Purtee for her vision and enjoy this fun pattern. If you find you are having trouble with the stitch pattern you can always watch the video for the square I did for the CAL. It is a a step-by-step video tutorial that can be found on the Marly Bird YouTube Channel. By the way, have you subscribed to my YouTube Channel yet?
