Introducing the perfect striped mittens. I brought these striped mittens along on the trip with me and thank goodness I did. They were perfect for outdoor adventures in the snow. They're made out of an acrylic wool blend, so they're soft but really durable. Just what I need for playing around in the snow. Not only are these gloves practical, but they're cute too. The base of the mittens is gray with pink tips at the top. Then, there's a little white stripe under the pink, with a bit of gray separating the colors. It's a really basic design because they're worked in single crochet all over. So if you're going on a trip soon, you can work these up just in time.
This cute free crochet mitten pattern is a quick project featuring a pretty cable element. Make it in wool for a warmer winter mitten, or in cotton for a lighter weight fall or spring mitten. With multiple sizes included, it's a pattern you'll be able to use again and again. Pattern includes sizes: Toddler, Child, Teen/Adult Small, Adult Medium, and Adult Large. Pattern calls for size 5.5mm (I) crochet hook and aran (4) weight yarn. I used Jupiter Moon Farm's Cumulus for the project shown.
This moon dance mitten pattern with a ribbed cuff and textured fabric is such a fun project! It is a great pattern for those still new to crochet - very beginner friendly. It was first designed by Heather from the Unraveled Mitten exclusively for the Sewrella blog! This is an intermediate level crochet pattern, and the techniques you will need to know are single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, back loop only, front and back post double crochet, half double crochet 2 together, Chain stitch, and slip stitch.
The Velvet Mittens pattern is an easy to crochet pattern using Bernat Velvet that includes a full video tutorial. This pattern also includes a knit version of the mittens. The mittens are created entirely out of single crochet, starting with the cuff. The cuff is worked side to side in the back loops only to give a ribbed effect, then the ribbing is turned and the thumb shaping begins. After increasing for the thumb, the thumb stitches are left unworked while working the rest of the hand, then picked up again at the end.
Capture the warmth and softness of Red Heart's Hygge yarn with this simple mitten pattern. This is an easy level pattern that uses a variety of simple stitches to create a textured mitten pattern with a unique ribbed cuff. There is a full video tutorial for both the right and left handed crocheter to walk you through all the steps in creating these mittens. They are interchangeable (meaning both mittens are the same). Techniques used are chaining, single crochet, double crochet and working through the front and back loops.
The Rasta Mittens are an easy level crochet pattern that uses the waistcoat stitch for a knit look. This pattern works up super quickly using one skein of Malabrigo Rasta, a super bulky yarn. These mittens are made up entirely of single crochet and there is a video tutorial for the project. Uses size L and P crochet hooks, a stitch marker and a yarn needle and is sized for an average woman's hand, approximately 7 inches in diameter.
The baby doll hat and mittens crochet pattern is beginner skill level. You'll need to know basic crochet stitches. Additionally you'll need to know how to increase/decrease as well as knowing how to work into the back loop only. To make the baby doll hat and mittens I used deep red DK (weight 3) yarn and a 4mm crochet hook. Don't forget it's important to remember to do your gauge swatch before starting if you want your hat and mittens to fit.
