Summer Tote Bag

"I'm very excited to share my first crochet bag pattern! I had purchased some Bernat Outdoor yarn a while back and was originally going to make outdoor pillows (which I will probably still do) but the feel of the yarn (stretchy and durable) made me think it would be perfect for a summer beach bag. The bag is worked in the round from the bottom up with a J 6mm crochet hook and half double crochet (hdc) stitches. The pattern is simple and works up quickly, making it a great crochet bag for beginners."

Summer Retro Tote Bag

Summer retro style meets function and versatility in this fun crochet hexagon tote bag. I used an easy hexagon pattern and added a little visual interest by adding a pop of color, to create the main portion of the bag. Basic crochet stitches were then used to form the bag’s solid, sturdy bottom and strap.

The Library Tote Free Crochet Pattern

"The Library Tote Crochet Book Bag is a book lover’s best friend. This rectangle bag is composed of a sturdy single crochet bottom with two wide handles for comfort. Bring it to the farmer’s market, the library or the yarn store. When we hit the library we never seem to have enough hands or bags for all the books. I love this bag for these trips. It's yarn so it stretches, but it's more supportive than a mesh bag."

Square Bottom Tote

"I just love crochet patterns that look more complex then they are. That is definitely the case with the square bottom crochet tote bag. This bag starts with a simple solid granny square then in just a few rows of decreases you have a bag that is perfect for on the go. Do you ever have to dump out your entire purse to find your keys? This crochet tote will never hide your keys from you. You just lay the bag on a flat surface and it opens up nice and wide. Shuffle things around just a bit and you will be able to find anything you are looking for. "

"This spectacular mandala motif is transformed into a simple tote bag with the addition of perfectly placed tabs along the sides and bottom of the two motifs. The textured strap is worked right into the side of the bag. Optional lining instructions are included, too. This motif would also make an exquisite joined motif afghan.
