Choose one beautiful skein of yarn, start this relaxing easy project and finish in a weekend! The sample uses Fingering Weight yarn in the most stunning red and pink colourway. The pattern would also work well with DK or Worsted weight yarn. I suggest using a larger than recommended hook size to give your shawl a loose drape and the stitches will open out beautifully after blocking. The decreases on one side of the shawl form ‘teeth’ which is a striking feature of the design. Winter's Coming Hooded Scarf

This is a very cozy hooded scarf! This winter scarf is crocheted using a traditional granny stitch and it has a ribbed edge created with front and back post double crochet stitches. The finished scarf length is approximately 62 inches and the width of the scarf is approximately 9.5 inches. The hood height is 13 inches X 13 inches wide (when flat). You can easily change the length of the scarf shorter (to make this a hooded cowl or hooded infinity scarf) or longer to have much more scarf to wrap around on the outside of your jacket or coat. Loops and Threads Woollike yarn (85% acrylic, 15% nylon) is so soft to the touch and makes for a great wearable that won't get too hot or itchy. The scarf is worked with 2 strands together with a clear easy to follow pattern. This can also be made with medium worsted weight yarn or any weight yarn if you prefer a thicker scarf (just make sure your beginning chains measure 54″ and is an even number of stitches).
