Blooming Granny Square Baby Afghan
Several years ago I hosted a crochet-along for a stitch sampler blanket and one of the squares was the Blooming Granny Square. In the CAL we did small squares as the learning swatch size. Well, one of my contactors loved the look of the small blooming granny square so she made several, seamed them together then added the same border we used for the stitch sampler blanket to her new blanket and voila! The minute I saw it I knew I needed to purchase the sample and publish it as an option for that very cute square. So, let's say thank you to Jennifer Purtee for her vision and enjoy this fun pattern. Loops and Ridges Baby Blanket Free Pattern
"Today I am sharing with you a cute fluffy baby blanket with you all: Loops and Ridges Baby Blanket. This baby blanket has a textured loopy blanket framed by a plain, solid border. The size of the double loop stitch used on the blanket can be adjusted in size and the rib border can be made narrower or thicker. And just to make it easier for you, I also created a full video tutorial that guides you step by step on how to crochet your own Loops and Ridges Baby Blanket. I designed the blanket using DK (light worsted #3) yarn because of the full texture of the blanket, but if you want a thick and warm blanket, you can switch to Aran (worsted #4) yarn."

"The Summer Garden Flower Blanket is not an easy pattern, but the result is spectacular. A field of flowers in 3 different shades of pink surrounded by a border of green leaves. The blanket is made out of simple flower hexagons sewed together with the invisible seam technique. The blanket edging is made with the leaf stitch border. To avoid having too many ends to weave in, crochet over the magic ring end tail. Sew the hexagons in strips then sew the strips to each other."
