We love it when our crochet patterns imitate nature! In this case it seems like this three-dimensional flower in different shades of pink is really blooming on the green grass. Any blanket or afghan you crochet will look like a meadow!

Cabled Blooms 12" Afghan Square
My very first afghan square design! I needed to design a 12" afghan square for a collaboration with another designer, but for the life of me I couldn't come up with a design. Then it hit me! Cables, I need to design a cabled afghan square to stay true to myself. That's when the Cabled Blooms afghan square was born. I love the solid version, but admit that the multi-colored version is great as well. The design includes a couple plains rounds of single crochet at the end that you can omit if you'd like.
English Garden Afghan Square
The English Garden Afghan Square is a crochet granny square that features rows of unique stitches and bright, vivid colors. This crochet square would make a perfect accent square in a crochet granny square afghan, and would look great in any color.
From the Designer: "This square is gorgeous! It has a decidedly geometrically organized look, like a formal english garden and the color combinations just speak of the blooms in a garden. Of course you can make it in as many or few colors as you like since the square also has nice texture. Pair it with simple solid squares for a truly elegant throw.
Blooming With Hope Square
I am so looking forward to green grass, flowers and working in my yard, this year more than ever. As I thought about this project, I knew I wanted a flower to bloom out of the center. You can add the petals around the center or leave them off. The texture is easy to create and I think it gives it a nice look. Simple 10-Petal Flower Square
The firs of our flower ides, an afghan square pattern is easy, but just difficult enough to challenge the beginner and produces a beautiful motif that can be worked into an afghan, throw or blanket. The square is 9 inches to a side and is made in three shades of worsted weight yarn and an H hook. You can vary the size by changing the weight of the yarn, the hook size and yarn tension.
