  • Designed by Sari Åström

We love it when our crochet patterns imitate nature! In this case it seems like this three-dimensional flower in different shades of pink is really blooming on the green grass. Any blanket or afghan you crochet will look like a meadow!

Blooming With Hope Square

Blooming With Hope SquareI am so looking forward to green grass, flowers and working in my yard, this year more than ever. The texture is easy to create and I think it gives it a nice look. Simple 10-Petal Flower Square

The firs of our flower ides, an afghan square pattern is easy, but just difficult enough to challenge the beginner and produces a beautiful motif that can be worked into an afghan, throw or blanket. The square is 9 inches to a side and is made in three shades of worsted weight yarn and an H hook. You can vary the size by changing the weight of the yarn, the hook size and yarn tension.

Cabled Blooms 12" Afghan Square

My very first afghan square design! I needed to design a 12" afghan square for a collaboration with another designer, but for the life of me I couldn't come up with a design. Then it hit me! Cables, I need to design a cabled afghan square to stay true to myself. That's when the Cabled Blooms afghan square was born. I love the solid version, but admit that the multi-colored version is great as well. The design includes a couple plains rounds of single crochet at the end that you can omit if you'd like.

Add some flower power to your next project when you create the Loopy Daisy Crochet Granny Square. Variegated yarn in shades of pink results in a vibrant three-dimensional design in the center of the crochet granny square. The remainder of the pattern includes an ornate design that incorporates yarn in a variety of bright colors. You'll love how easy this crochet pattern is to make, and you'll also enjoy including the design in a pattern for a bag or scarf.
