Crochet these snuggly warm mittens for babies, featuring a ribbed double cuff and textured stitch pattern. I have used Aran (US Worsted) weight acrylic yarn for my mittens. You can use any worsted/aran weight yarn you prefer. This pattern includes 2 baby sizes, designed without separate thumbs. Size A for approx. 6-12 months: Suitable for upto 3” hand width by 3.5” hand length, with a maximum cuff circumference of 4.5” Size B for approx. 12-18 months: Suitable for upto 3.5” hand width by 4.5” hand length, with a maximum cuff circumference of 5”

The baby doll hat and mittens crochet pattern is beginner skill level. You'll need to know basic crochet stitches. Additionally you'll need to know how to increase/decrease as well as knowing how to work into the back loop only. To make the baby doll hat and mittens I used deep red DK (weight 3) yarn and a 4mm crochet hook. This crochet pattern is written for five sizes, toddler-adult. However, the designer mentions that you can use a smaller hook and thinner yarn to decrease the size further and make crochet baby mittens. The yarn is a very thick #6 super bulky yarn so dropping down to a bulky or even worsted weight yarn would make smaller mittens that are still warm enough for winter.
