"Gnomes have been one of my mom’s favorites since I was little. On vacations to the Oregon Coast she would tell use she could see gnomes in the trees and tell us stories about them. She really made them come to life. Since gnomes are popular lately I thought it would be fun to make one into a luminary cover. It slips over a mason jar and I put a battery operated tea light inside. It could be used for treats or gifts too. "

Give Me Variety Tote Bag
The crochet pattern for this bag was created specifically with variegated yarn in mind. Yarns that have a quick-changing color can be tricky to work with, as they steal the show and diminish stitch definition. Sometimes (a lot of the time), simple really is best. You'll only need 1 skein of solid color worsted weight yarn for the bottom and top, and one variegated for the body. Two solid colors (or more) would look great too! I used Loops and Threads Impeccable, that created the best "spiraling" effect with this crochet bag. Red Heart Soft looked pretty too, but in a different way, sort of speckled.
