Oh My Blanket Free Crochet Pattern

Afghans and Blankets

"I went with blues and taupe for a beachy feel, something I have been craving during this cold. But you can use as many or few colors as you like to create your own custom palette. And when you carry the yarn along the side, covering it up later with the border, you don't end up with a ton of ends to weave in either! Shown in the pattern is the throw size, but stitch and row counts are included for Baby to California King!"

Simple Rib Blanket Border

Afghans and Blankets

"This simple rib crochet blanket border is a great addition to any blanket. It is a very traditional looking border and can be worked on any blanket. Plus, it is an easy one-row repeat pattern. For this blanket, you will simply need an even stitch count around the entire blanket. Ideally, you should already have an even stitch count. Your top and bottom row should have matching stitch counts, your sides rows should have matching stitch counts and you will have four corners. Overall the stitch count should be even. But do not worry, I will show you in the video how to correct the stitch count if it is off for some reason."

Today am sharing the pattern for this Crochet Easy Shell Stitch Blanket. I just love the texture of this stitch. This pattern is very simple to work up. This stitch is made up of double crochets and single crochets worked up in a pattern. The Crochet shell stitch looks complicated, but its just a repeat of two rows and you end up with a beautiful crochet blanket. I have used variegated yarn for the blanket. I love how the color changes and you don't have to weave off the yarn ends in case of using different color yarn at end of every row. You can use this easy Crochet shell stitch pattern to also make a Placemat Tablemat or a full sized crochet afghan blanket or a crochet throw. Crochet Fireside Throw Blanket

Crochet Fireside Throw Blanket

This crochet fireside throw blanket will look so beautiful this fall. The colors remind me of an autumn sunset or a warm fire burning in the fireplace. I love to use crochet items that are useful to help bring the colors of the season into my home decor. Have you ever stood in the yarn store or in your yarn stash and let your yarn tell you what your next project will be? I do that often. Sometimes, I will have a project that I plan on doing; look through my yarn stash, and end up making something completely different. Seems crazy, right? At times, when digging through the yarn, a color combination will jump out at me and gives me inspiration. This blanket is made using the block stitch that has been slightly modified. In the past, when I have crocheted the block stitch, alternating the yarn colors every other row left a ton of yarn ends to be weaved in. Therefore, while I love the look of the block stitch, the sewing in of the yarn ends made me veer away from this beautiful stitch. Carry the Yarn up the Side of the Blanket! Yup, no more weaving in tons of yarn with each color change. It was not easy to figure out.

January Blues Crochet Lap Blanket

Afghans and Blankets

January Blues Crochet Lap Blanket

This crochet blanket is made lengthwise using double crochets and chains. My favorite type of pattern that's SUPER easy but looks like it was a little complex to make! During the cold Winter months when the sun barely shines through the clouds, I'm always drawn to shades of blue and brown. The slight lace of the stitches make this blanket on the lighter side but it's still heavy enough to keep your legs and feet warm!
