Year Of The Tiger Granny Square
Hello everyone! Wow, how time flies by! 2022 is here, and January is almost over. So it must be time to add a new granny square to my collection. It's the year of the tiger this time around, and let me tell you, it was a real challenge for me to make this one. I spent so many days researching both real, and crocheted tigers trying to come up with a good design. What I found more intriguing and charming was the white tiger rather than the orange one; they are quite majestic looking, their cubs are super cute, and to be honest with you, their color scheme can be interpreted somehow easier than the more known orange tigers. And here is another varioation of the Tunisian Saloniki Stitch. While the basic technique is the same, it uses an offset to create a discontinuous effect. Thus, this crochet style creates a very soft and cozy afghan, that has a fairly prominent texture of diagonal bands of Saloniki stitching.
